I think a lot of has to do with how much young people can afford to spend on a car, and not necessarily the car itself.Old man sedan... I'm in the bottom 14%. (at time of vote)
My taste is mature and advanced. Love my car.

Perhaps true in most cases. I did spend more on a car in my 20's (a Volvo S70 T5) than I did for the Genesis. I didn't want a big, comfy car - speed and handling were the priority without regard for comfort (though the seats in the Volvo were the best I've ever sat in). Fun car, but way too unreliable (dumped in after 1 year).I think a lot of has to do with how much young people can afford to spend on a car, and not necessarily the car itself.
It was rated at 240hp, but it felt much more than that. It wasn't a 0-60 dragster because of the large turbo, but once going, it was very quick. And yes, it handled pretty well. Quoting from Wikiepdia:
"At the time of its release, the S70 T-5 was one of the fastest accelerating production saloon cars in the world..."
There wasn't an R version of the S70 released in NA also according to Wikipedia (if that's what you are referring to).
Sedan vs wagon. Depending on year, FWD vs AWD. Opinions are opinions.I had a V70R which has more power but still doesn't go well with speed and handling. At least my Genesis R-Spec has the speed factor but not the handling one.
I don't think cost vs age is a factor, as I commute amongst BMW, Benz, and an overwhelming number of Audis, all piloted by twenty and thirty somethings on their way to work in low or middle management. They can afford the Genesis thanks to generous banks and low interest rates, but they choose based on status...
