  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got Genesis 2015 tech package 3.8 and can't figure how to lower volume on Chimes and Beeps,,,also the overhead interior light is very bright at night and wondered if can lower intensity???Thanks...
Have 75 miles on car and has some rattles over bumps and engine not as solid as I hoped...This is not a Mercedes or Bimmer by any stretch of imagination...Hope fully will grow to like it better...
Neighbor gets Sante Fe serviced at local dealer and said the service is very poor not customer oriented worse than a Toyota dealership..

I think a lot of has to do with how much young people can afford to spend on a car, and not necessarily the car itself.

^^ Most people can't afford a Genesis as their first car out of school. I loved the Genesis when it came out and I was finishing up my graduate degree @ 23yo. I just couldn't afford to buy one yet.

Perhaps true in most cases. I did spend more on a car in my 20's (a Volvo S70 T5) than I did for the Genesis. I didn't want a big, comfy car - speed and handling were the priority without regard for comfort (though the seats in the Volvo were the best I've ever sat in). Fun car, but way too unreliable (dumped in after 1 year).

The family loves the Genesis. Much more than the '11 TL it replaced.

It was rated at 240hp, but it felt much more than that. It wasn't a 0-60 dragster because of the large turbo, but once going, it was very quick. And yes, it handled pretty well. Quoting from Wikiepdia:
"At the time of its release, the S70 T-5 was one of the fastest accelerating production saloon cars in the world..."

There wasn't an R version of the S70 released in NA also according to Wikipedia (if that's what you are referring to).

63 years and 4 days! Love my R-Spec and always thought the Genesis was a fine looking car. I just wasn't sold on the Hyundai name, and after a few years and getting on this forum, I decided to buy the R-Spec. Never had a second thought about Hyundai since purchase. Older, wiser and know a good deal when I see it, 12k off sticker price.

I had a V70R which has more power but still doesn't go well with speed and handling. At least my Genesis R-Spec has the speed factor but not the handling one.

Sedan vs wagon. Depending on year, FWD vs AWD. Opinions are opinions.

My point was to Mark's comment about affordability and age. Not debating if a car from 16 years ago was fast or not.

I don't think cost vs age is a factor, as I commute amongst BMW, Benz, and an overwhelming number of Audis, all piloted by twenty and thirty somethings on their way to work in low or middle management. They can afford the Genesis thanks to generous banks and low interest rates, but they choose based on status...

Until they buy a house, furnish it, have three kids, buy diapers, formula, wife needs new furniture and botox, kids need college fund, kids need 100.00 for Justin Bieber tickets, and the list goes on

I hope they keep advancing up the corporate ladder and increase their paychecks, cause once interest rates rise, the $h!t is gonna hit the fan

If I weren't already married, I also would have bought a BMW/Audi/Benz instead of the Genesis. :-P

Well, since this was supposed to be a poll, I'm 68 when my R-Spec is in the garage, 48 when I'm driving it, and 28 when some young hottie says, "I love your Bentley."

28 when I bought my 2010 Sedan. Had it for two years now and still love it.
