  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

I agree with this. I mentioned this before, but I've seen dealer discounts advertised for thousands of dollars off, but dealer add-ons add back onto the discounted price so it's close to MSRP again. I once tried to negotiate to remove the add-ons, and the dealer said they'd remove the dealer discount if I did. I probably could have negotiated harder to include the discount and remove the add-ons, but I digress.

In the end, I think it'd be helpful if people just included a price breakdown of their OTD price with discount off MSRP, manufacturer rebates, and dealer add-on packages. Of course people are free to post as much information as they want, but this format would be most helpful.

So then for a typical car deal in this vehicle class, is a 5% discount off MSRP good if you don't include manufacturer's incentives? I just mean in general and not for the G70 at this time.

But aren't the dealer add-ons already reflected in the MSRP as shown on the window sticker? For example, I used $56,560 in my MSRP figure above, and that included dealer add-ons such as a cargo tray ($100), mud guards ($115), first aid kit ($45), and wheel locks ($55), in addition to the $995 freight & handling fee. Are you talking about some sort of other dealer add-ons that aren't already included on the window sticker?

I think the options on the window sticker are port added options so they show. Here is an example of what Genesis of Atlanta. They show the MSRP and then dealer options and those aren't on the Window Sticker.

I see what you mean. $395 for window tinting, $225 for all-weather floor mats (LOL), and $495 for paint & fabric protection (ROFL).

The only thing worse are the dealers that add another $1k or $2k to the MSRP without giving you anything at all, lol. The dealer I went to in Miami had done that on their 2018s.

Whether I want to share that and with whom is my business. No one else has shared their pricing and now I see why. Share a little and everyone wants every detail. I won't be posting where I bought the car.

I agree with you 100%. I didn't share my OTD price either.

You forgot the nitrogen filled tires extra fee----

I once saw an addition that said "Dealer adjustment location". IMO, you should never pay more than the MSRP price unless it's a vehicle that is in limited supply AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT. IF you don't like the dealer adjustments and you want the vehicle, tell them to take whatever it is off or walk. Especially if it's something like undercoat protection. Well, you can't take undercoat off, but make the dealer eat it.

My GXM told me to never undercoat the G70. It was already treated at the factory and should not rust. I've never done it on any of my previous vehicles and never had issues anyway!

Maybe methods have changed, but some years ago may cars would rust from moisture trapped in the improperly applied undercoat.

These days cars have better materials and factory coatings.

Maybe. My old Infiniti J30 only rusted at the rockers. My Mitsubishi Outlander didn't rust underneath. My TL SH-AWD only rusted on the heat shield which my dealer replaced when they fixed my drive shaft.

No one's forcing you to. If you don't want to anonymously share data to help the other buyers for some reason, to then don't.

No need to add to this thread either though

Yeah, I'm not sure what the purpose is of opening a thread titled "Post Purchase Price Details Here" just to post that you have no intention of doing so. As dengen stated, If you don't want to help other forum members by providing pricing details, then don't. No need to make a big announcement that you've chosen not to though.

Looking at these post I feel sorry most people on here. The post was for posting the price you paid for your car. Not the monthly payment, not the MSRP "who looks at that anyway", not interest rates, not credit scores. If I have a credit score of 2 or 800 what does that have to do with the selling price of the car? Who cares about an MSRP. Demand $500 over dealer cost not taking in to account dealer kick backs. Anything more you are getting took!

You might want to re-read the OP (assuming you've even read it once) and try to comprehend its meaning. The creator of this thread wanted to know people's lease terms in addition to the selling price of the car. By definition, "lease terms" would include interest rate (money factor) and monthly payment. And one's credit score figures into the lease or finance terms one will be offered. Now, if you don't like that, well, that's just too f'n bad. Go start your own thread.

My only purpose, and I do mean _only_ purpose, in creating this thread was for it to become a resource for other members to reference when they are trying to buy/lease a new car. So while I didn't specifically mention lease terms, sure, if you leased a care, let us know the details you negotiated.

We can work together to get better market data on pricing, for the good of all - that is my goal with this thread.

Plans are always good and some intentions are also. However, jus remember to accept the good with the bad and move on. There is an ignore button on each and everyones profile. Use it if you need or want too. It works great for those comments which have no bearing with your intended purpose. Just click on their username and voila', you'll see it.:grinlaugh:

Cheers

Anyone here purchase recently at a NJ dealer? Just want to survey some recent deals if anyone is willing to share. I am almost certain I will lease one before the end of the year and I am seeing some fluctuations in dealer inventory at cars.com for the NJ dealers. Let's get some activity going in this thread especially as we reach the end of Nov!

I will definitely share my numbers when I get to that stage.

Himalayan Gray 2.0T dynamic package

MSRP: 47,115
$44,997 would be your purchase price, the lease price would be $2500 less due to the lease rebate so $42,497. They then had to take another $1,000 off right before I signed due to not meeting my $360 per month requirement and bad math on their part so it’s actually $41,497 after lease rebate.

I did trade in 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited and they offered me $13,000 for it. I put $7900 towards the lease to take care of ttl too. They are giving me a check back for $5100.

Payments are $366 per month, 3 year, 10k per month

Located just outside of Boston.

Happy to answer any questions! Hope this helps anyone.

Very nice deal you got. More than $2000 off MSRP plus lease incentives is good.
