  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

It is simple. I did a VIN change an hour or so after I received my certificate. r_spec was apparently out of touch for 4 July weekend and sent my first Circle after his return and in that time I targeted another vehicle at another dealer. New certificate generated almost instantly. I think it could be updated while you were at the dealer if necessary if options changed while in negotiation.

^ Same experience here. Once you have the certificate, it is changeable instantly, without bothering r_spec.

r_spec says, if I recall correctly, that the dealer needs only the PIN to confirm from the dealer end. Actual paper or email is fine but the PIN is the key component for customer and dealer alike.

Thanks for the heads up!

Got my circle price certificate from R_spec. Huge props to him!

The car I want is in Dallas, and I'm in Houston. Has anyone navigated a similar situation? How likely is it to get a local dealer to initiate a swap and throw that car on the back of a truck?

The other thing I wondered about is if maybe there is a car at the Port that might match my requirements that they could snag. Do we know if there's any supply just kind of hanging around that doesn't show as dealer inventory?

For you last question - yes, there are cars at the port, but I assume the supply is starting to thin as the 2020 models should be coming out soon.

Definitely are cars at port--but that process can take a while and, as mentioned, would imagine the number of cars is declining. Dealers will also swap cars--but need to negotiate who pays to get the car to where you are--many dealers happy to do it if you pay transport cost. With Circle pricing, had thought some dealers limit it to what is on hand and think it is up to the dealer whether to accept.
Can't hurt to ask/inquire. Can always go to another dealer.
Also, some of what dealers show on their inventory is not always accurate.

I’m in DFW. I’ll drive it to Houston for you if you buy me a Southwest flight to Love field so I can get home.

No question kudos to r_spec for all the help he has provided to forum members. But also kudos to you for becoming a sustaining member. So many members just come to this site with their hands out and can’t even consider donating to the site.

Be aware that Circle A pricing certificates are VIN-specific, applying only to a specific car on a dealer's lot. You first find the particular car you want, and then get a certificate for it. You can't just go shopping for a car with a blank certificate. If you find a different car you'd rather get, use the certificate's PIN to get a new certificate, a simple on-line process.
And, yes; the dealer can decline to honor the certificate. But I haven't heard of that happening - a bird in the hand...If they balk at adding incentives, fight back. I did, successfully.

So I’m waiting for 2020’s to come out. Had planned to approach my local dealer as 2020’s are first hitting the states to get acceptance of pricing and circle A use and have the dealer order for me as best possible exactly what I want. I don’t want the typical (any) port installed crap. That means until the dealer has a VIN I cannot really obtain a circle A certificate it sounds like? Most of my prior car purchases I’ve ordered exactly what I wanted, car comes in already sold, doesn’t affect the dealers floor plan with the manufacturer and dealer has flipped it quickly. They usually will negotiate bottom dollar for they have little, if any invested in the car when they come in and go right back out.

You can enter any VIN you like (from a Genesis equivalent model). Then when your car appears in port or on dealer allotment change the VIN through the Circle website. The issue with this is that the Certificate expires within a certain time, apparently when the current period promotions end which is roughly monthly though some report longer periods. 2020 arrival date is unknown. Perhaps your dealer can advise you now with this issue. My dealer admitted that Circle certificates were nearly unknown. I think he meant he had never seen one though may have known of them (and certainly knows of the discounts for dealer employees). You will be dealing with Hyundai sales people, new to this brand. It may require patience. Most (all?) are less educated than the accumulated wisdom of this forum.

Well, I finally got my G70. i've been wanting one since i first saw the straight pipes' video on youtube back in June last year. the time finally came...
i got a 3.3T RWD Elite in Adriatic Blue. I used the circle pricing certificate that r_spec was kind enough to furnish to me to get them to come down on one they had on the lot.

sticker was $46,690 and the "total selling price" was $43,476. after factoring my POS trade-in in and TTL, as well as a $250 rebate i somehow qualified for, my actual out the door was $45,564. which, according to my feverish calculations comes out to a discount of ~7.5% off all other things being equal, but paying MSRP.

i bought it from Genesis of Spring (their website is North Freeway Genesis, so not sure if they are set on a name yet) north of Houston. the sales guy was super straightforward and very easy to deal with. this was overall a very UN-stressful car buying experience. so i can recommend Reggie if you happen to go by that dealership. as further evidence, i accidentally forgot my garage door opener and radar detector windshield mount in my trade-in, and since his mother lived near me, he personally delivered them to my house later that evening to save me a trip to the dealership. i thought that was pretty decent of him.

here are a couple pics. not sure if i post them as thumbnails you can also see full resolution. attempt #1.

Congratulations, looks great. Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

I wanted Adriatic Blue but such cars, as I wanted them, were far away and my second choice was well ahead of my third choice. Now I see yours and I have a bit of regret creeping in. Not enough to diminish my pleasure though.

I was kind of set on silver until I saw Adriatic in person and it immediately became my favorite. They all look great, though!
