No. With their dealer price reduction plus lease cash and competitor car cash I was at 20+ % less than retail and I was satisfied. I presented it and they said it would not apply since their price was lower but did they use it anyway to reduce their discounted loss? Maybe. They had already presented me their price prior to the A cert. If they used it to help themselves without pain to me, so be it.
Would not surprise me since that car was on display, like a promotional item, that Genesis may have already reduced the dealer invoice lower than normal. Otherwise, dealer is taking a gamble putting his inventory as a display item outside the protections of his showroom and lot. Kids, baby strollers, who knows what all can bump into and create some wear and tear on a brand new car.

This car was in their inventory listed online and when I went to the dealer on Saturday they said it was at the mall. Required 48 hour notice to mall administration for replacement of car and changes done during mall closing hours. So on Sunday I took myself to the mall to examine it more closely than would be possible at the dealer with the salesman standing over me plus weather issues. I was satisfied.

Beautiful...!

Picked up my 2019 G70 3.3T RWD Prestige over the weekend. I just had to get the Santiago Silver (not available for 2020) and the double bonus was that I was able to negotiate a great deal. SS is the best color, right Todd!

Here are my numbers:

The car had the following add-ons that were mostly thrown into the deal:
- Window tint
- Vehicle Theft Assistance (window etching)
- Door cups and edge guards (thinking of removing the door edge guards for aesthetic reasons and easier waxing - if I don't hit other cars with my doors, what's the point? open to thoughts on this)
- Crystal Fusion windshield treatment (doubt this is any better than Rain-x)
- Nitrogen filled tires (uhh ok)

The above extras totaled $1365, but they reduced it down to $140 for the VTA that they said could not be removed. I consider all of the above as not much added value except the window tint, so I was happy to pay the $140

The $639 of dealer fees included $499 as doc fee and the above mentioned $140

The $75 was for temporary 90 day registration. The car was bought out of state, so I now need to register it in CA myself.

The selling price of the car was based on the Circle A price $45061 minus $1443 of dealer discount = $43618

The dealer used the Genesis subsidized MF of .00008, so I was happy to not have to negotiate this down

Lease cash rebate was $4750 plus $1000 for competitive vehicle and $1000 end of year bonus = $6750. I purposely delayed pickup last month when this deal was negotiated as I was hoping there would be more Genesis rebate for December. Seeing the $500 rebate for Black Friday, I rolled the dice and lost when it was removed on Dec 3rd and no replacement.

Actual selling price including rebates was $43618 minus $6750 = $36868

The 700 mile drive home was wet (rained half the time) and fun! Loved getting to know the tech features of this car with lots of pleasant surprises along the way:
- rain sensing wipers work great!
- smart cruise, awesome!
- lane keeping assist worked great!
- found a boost gauge! did not know it had one
- handling? on rails!
- seats? comfy!!
- acceleration, wow!!!

Car was bought at Genesis of Peoria in AZ. They treated me right and I felt the luxury car buying experience from them! Salesman picked us up at the airport in a G80 and had papers ready to go upon our arrival. The GM popped in for a chat and welcomed us to the dealership. He gave us a couple nice gifts too, great guy! PM me if you want the name of my salesman who handled my admittedly persistent negotiation with expedience and professionalism! Can't say the same for most other dealerships I contacted.

Lastly, a special thanks to @r_spec for the Circle A certificate. As many have stated, he's been great at helping many on this forum. I would encourage others to send him a small token of appreciation for his time and efforts after receiving your cert. I truly feel his intentions are pure and he is not doing it for any kickbacks, but best to pay it forward and acknowledge his generosity.

Now THAT is a BEAUTIFUL car. Well done, good sir!!

Excellent deal, probably the new bar set for a 2019 lease. Interesting to see the further discount off Circle A. Oh and beautiful car!

Any chance you can ditch that front plate thing? it really detracts from the front look. I’ve managed to do it for about 7 months now, and here in NY it’s a question of “for how long”. I keep the second plate in the trunk in case I do get stopped I can at least say I’m waiting for the right holder.
I was wondering if that was intentional or not too. @honorable flea if you didn't take the plate off just for the pics, Get a phillips head screwdriver into those 3 holes and take that little back plate off!
I was removing my temp tags and putting on permanent plates, and figured I would wash and wax behind the plates while I had them off. In Virginia you need front plates, so I use the mounting block anyways. Would prefer not to have anything on the grill but oh well.

It's nice to hear about the recent deals. I'm going to take another stab at negotiating a lease of a 2019 RWD 6-speed, albeit from a different dealer(s). Thinking about reaching out and negotiating via email this time. My goal, again, is 15% off MSRP prior to incentives. Afterall, these 6-speed RWD's just aren't moving. We're coming up to the end of the month at the end of the year. I'll keep you posted.

Congrats! I’ve seen you looking for the purchase quite some time. Hope to come across your silver one in the bayarea.

I have not seen a single G70 in the Bay Area. Thinking about cross shopping a Stinger and a G70 and seeing if I lean one way after a test drive. Hope to see one of your guys' in person!

I think in most cases, it comes down to one of these three things: 1) Which looks better? 2) Do I need more space? 3) Is it a Kia?

While they do drive a little different, it's still pretty damn similar. The wheelbase makes the most difference to driving characteristics (imo)

I wish I get paid to do this.. That would be nice just to cover my time at least.. Also, I don't, and have never asked, and will never ask anyone for anything in return. A couple of forum members have shown their gratitude one way or another, but most of the time, I don't even get a simple "thank you" message.

Just like all the other people who are active on online car forums/communities, I'm a car enthusiast who loves being a part of online car communities and enjoy helping others.
How do I contact you for a Pin? I'm getting a genesis but the pricing would help a lot with a Circle A pin

Hello all, new member!

What is Circle A?

I went and test drove a Siberian Ice white 2019 G70 3.3 AWD with Elite and Prestige packages (which to my understanding is around $48,000 MSRP). They were asking for approximately $52,000 MSRP (not sure where the other $4,000 in MSRP was coming from). The best they wanted to give me was $4,200 off MSRP before any discounts/incentives. I really like the car but it was still around $47,800 before taxes/title/registration. I'd prefer to get the 0% financing rather than the $1,000 year-end cash. I was hoping to get around $6,000 off MSRP before discounts and incentives. Is that too aggressive?

Btw, i'm located in Maryland if that helps.

Thank you!

Welcome. Circle A is basically a discount certificate that gets you down below invoice with no negotiation. A Hyundai employee has to provide one. I think mine took a $51k sticker to $46.5 and some change. With incentives I got down to $43k and some change on a new 2020. 2019 cars still on lots ought to be deeply discounted by now. A $48k sticker on a 2019 if you do all incentives you should get down to $38-$39, or maybe less. Catch up on prior posts to see what deals others have gotten?

Circle A is a hyundai program for friends, family, employees, dealers and affiliated corporations that allows you to get a discount off the vehicle. You get a discounted pricing (below dealer invoice) that will eliminate most of the negotiation required.. this is accomplished by a pin code which is in a certificate. There is a member on here that's been providing members help, but you can find methods to create your own pin code and Circle A "certificate" (which includes the pin code primarily) with some motivated search engine research.

The price you're being quoted seems excessive for 2019, as that's the price I see on Circle A in Texas for 2020 G70 3.3 RWD Sport (one level above prestige). The 2019s qualify for a $1K promo, as you noted and you should get that stacked on-top of Lease Cash.

There's few 2019s left, but they qualify for about $5k in lease-cash, which will stack on-top of $1k year end discount. Then you can elect to "lease" the car, then "pay it off" (secure loan from a credit union or something for low APR rate... it won't be 0%) the next month or so. Even with a multi-year loan, you should still come out ahead, assuming you don't get a high APR. See the member post a page or two ago on the deal he got with this option.

Negotiate the car for as low as you can get it... it's the end of the year and they should be offering you better numbers, regardless of Circle A.

Thank you for the welcome!

So i was looking at purchasing and financing vs. leasing. Is everyone getting better deals on leasing instead? I saw there was an extra $2,500 dealer cash that was being applied to only 2.0 engine models with Prestige/Dynamic/Sport trims.

The "Certified Sales Professional" who was the man behind the showroom desk and seemed to be the one with all the negotiating power said that I could qualify for the $1,000 year-end incentive and $500 military discount but not the 0% financing as well. I could either get 0% financing and the $500 military discount or i could get the $1,000 year-end and $500 military discount and a regular financing rate that isn't 0%.

I currently do not qualify for the $1,000 competitive owner or $1,000 Hyundia/Genesis loyalty incentives.

I agree, i did not feel like the $4,200 was enough of a discount off MSRP. I've heard the rule of thumb is to negotiate at least 10% off MSRP before any other incentives/bonus deals.

I really do like the Siberian Ice color. I think it looks good with the black interior to contrast the exterior.

Do you have any information on the $5k lease-cash? On the Genesis website the only lease deals i'm seeing are for 2.0T cars for around $429 per month (if i remember correctly). And those lease deals they had on their website was for MSRP priced vehicles.

I have USAA and Navy Federal and they're offering around 2.74% financing on new vehicles. So i am fine with the lease option then turning around and purchasing it through private financing.

This is an extensive series of posts on this thread. However the question of leasing and using the large lease cash incentive has moved several members from financing to leasing, including me. Skim this thread to learn the details of lease-purchase comparison. The lease cash and money factor (lease interest calculator) are strongly in the favor of the lessor rather than financing. However each person has his own motivations.
