  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

Putting aside whether you want payments or not, it is just a matter of running the numbers and seeing which way is the least expensive. You need to make a few guess as to what future interest rates and investment returns would be.

When the MF was extremely low it was a no-brainer to lease for the full term at 15k miles so the residual was as low as possible in order to use the almost free money. I haven't been following the MFs but if they are up in the 2% range as you mention then perhaps paying the lease off early is a better option depending on what that funding source would be.
Thank you for your input. This all good information.

Thanks!

Do dealers typically match prices from Costco Auto or Edmunds?

When I attempt to use the Costco Auto Program for the GV80, I get the message: "Unfortunately, none of the dealerships in your area meet our strict pricing requirements for the model you selected."

Oh wow not in my area they do the pricing.

same with me - Atlanta-area. No dealers have "signed up" (which is how it works w/ Costco.. or their San Diego-based third party whatever shrill ... and also with TrueCar)

Just picked up GV80 Advance plus. 1.9% $1,650 total off MSRP ($750 rebate plus $900 for trade in). It qualifies for the section 179 tax deduction for any small biz owners, so there is great value there for tax time.

I'm planning to pick up a 2021 G70 3.3t Sport in the Kansas City area in the next week if I can find a good deal. Does it seem like 10% off of MSRP is feasible before incentives (I plan to lease and buy out)?

Also, I'm moving on from a 3-series and was wondering if the conquest incentive can be had even if I've already turned in the 3-series. Anybody know?

10% off MSRP is not a bad price. If you own or did own a competitor car and have your insurance policy with the car still showing, that was all my dealer needed. My Infiniti was actually hit and totaled way before my G70 arrived but no one knew that. Dealer wanted the VIN and something that made it look as though I still had the car.

I bought a 2.0T RWD with the Elite Package in January down in South Florida. OTD price was $40k. Black Forest Green with Gray interior. 0% interest for 60 month. Just over one month in and I love this car. Also glad to be a part of this great community.

If you still have a copy of your vehicle registration, that may suffice. My sales guy said to bring the hard copy as proof, or even text him a picture of it. That was worth $1000 so it's worth a shot. They don't need to know you've turned in the car already.

EDIT: what @pulsar said lol

Seeking advice on how to proceed. I settled on pricing terms for a new G70 with the dealership last week (nothing signed yet), but then after checking their website inventory, I noticed the "internet price" for the same vehicle was even lower (difference of about $2600). I assumed this was the price BEFORE any incentives were included. But I was told the "dealer discount" on the website is a combination of all the possible incentives (military, first responder, conquest, valued owner, etc), and that this was just a price they post to "get people in the door". I tried pushing back to see if they would honor the internet price, but they wouldn't budge on it. Has anyone else been through a similar situation? Does this sound right? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

^ hmm, sounds shady. if they list a price but refuse to honor it that could be a legal problem beyond being sketchy. a listed price may be considered a 'sale offer', or possibly an 'offer to treat' (meaning it is not an actual offer, like a real estate listing). not sure your local laws but a call to the better business bureau may be in order. displaying unethical pricing which they have no intention of honoring is no bueno, at least up here in CAD. effectively it could be considered false advertising if the price is a sale offer.

now, if they have fine print which directs to a disclaimer that the posted price indeed accounts for all possible incentives they may have satisfied the advertising requirements - as shady as it is since essentially nobody would actually apply...but theoretically someone could. if this is the case you would not apply for the summation of available incentives, therefore that internet price is not valid for you.

The fine print says "All pricing and details are believed to be accurate, but we do not warrant or guarantee such accuracy. The prices shown above vary from region to region, as will incentives, and are subject to change. Vehicle information is based off standard equipment and may vary from vehicle to vehicle. Call or email for complete vehicle information. All specifications, prices and equipment are subject to change without notice. While we check with car manufacturers and other sources to confirm the accuracy and completeness of the data contained in this chart, we make no guarantees or warranties, either expressed or implied, with respect to the data in this report."

Sounds like the fine print allows them to post whatever price they want without any intention of honoring it. But no, it doesn't mention anything about it accounting for all possible incentives.

Trying to decide if I should move on this...

2020 G70 3.3T AWD with Elite and Prestige
Sold as new with 2600 miles - one year less of warranty but full complimentary service - no previous owner
MSRP $52,250
Price $41,637 before TTL

One other holdup is whoever enjoyed it for the 2600 miles curbed it on one passenger wheel. Damage is minimal and seems like it would be a $200 fix based on searching.

Good deal as a "new" 2020?

Search on Cars.com for 2020 G70 AWD 3.3 shows asking prices similar to your price. 4 of them all from Hyundai dealers, less than 4500 miles on all of them.

I've seen several dealers in multiple brands do that: The premise is simple, assume you are all of the above (Military, recent grad, first responder, with a targeted "conquest" trade in), then you do indeed get that price. Since you are not, you don't get their bottom advertised price. It's a very poor way to present a product, but not entirely bogus. Somewhere in the world, theoretically, some person does qualify for all those discounts.

Just saying it's not unique nor unusual so proceed accordingly.. because of that observation I now know to look for those fine print details 100% of the time.

Thanks - yeah, I have been looking at all I can here. I'm not completely sure which 4 you are looking at but probably seeing the same ones in that price range, mostly red ones. I don't care for red and the one I'm considering is not red. It's also nice that the one I'm considering I'd be first CarFax owner but worried what happened in those 2600 miles to have curb rash already. Rest of the car looked pretty good but it did have some expired warranty so "new" may be a stretch overall.

I'm also having to break a lease a little early so that factors in (would be about a $700 early return hit after some negotiation with the Genesis dealer).

Just bought a 2019 G70 3.3 Prestige that wasn't originally titled until August of 2020 with 4500 miles for $34,804 plus TTL.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and didn't want to start a new thread for this, as I think it loosely applies to the topic at hand.

I am interested in purchasing a CPO or low mileage G70, either '19 or '20 but preferably below 10K. Adriatic blue, grey or tan, 3.3T AWD drivetrain is a must. I have done a search on Cars.com and on a couple of other sites and see that there are a number of automobiles out there that fit my criteria, but all at dealership at least 500 miles from my physical location (I'm in the NE US).

I was curious if any forum members would know whether Genesis dealerships will work with one another to 'import' a car for local buyer. I could understand why the answer might be 'no'; however, I can also see an argument for providing this service to grow the brand and build customer loyalty.

So you inquiring if a dealer might take on a used car from another dealer and maybe make it a CPO car if not already? I’ve heard of dealer trades on new vehicles, but not on used ones before? Dealers can arrange shipment to you I would assume if you did not want the drive hassle or your local dealer does not want to help with this. I’d be afraid of taking on a used car site unseen though.
