  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post your 2015 Genesis Questions Here

Is the sport/eco/normal mode option available in all trims? Can an owner please post a picture or indicate where the option to change the mode is from?

I am looking forward to the delivery of my Genesis in a week :) But I am suddenly worried that the base models don't have the sport option?

Yes, I believe the Drive Mode selector is on all models. The first two 2015 Genesis that we drove were base models and they had the Drive Mode selector by the shifter on the center console.

You can see the button at the base of the shift gate on the console in this photo from Hyundai.

Yes you can turn off the LKA/LDWS.

Thanks

I concur. You can turn Lane Departure/Lane Keep off but I'm not sure why you would want to...

I did notice that on some of the older streets with faded lines it doesn't work anyway.

I don't want the hassles fighting my car to do what I want it to do. Maybe after driving it I'd find value, but I damn sure would not take that chance by spending my money on a car that it cannot be turned off. I had a car with adaptive cruise control a few years ago and I hated it with a passion. I have also had six cars with rain-sense wipers that cannot be turned off for a normal intermittent mode and I hate them with a passion as well.

I just noticed in the picture that their is a difference on the DIS cluster from the US production model...the parking sensor button is on the right side (blank spot in US), our park button is on the left....and on the left in this car is a steering wheel looking button that looks just like the LKA picture you see in your HUD when it's active, though it might be the heated steering wheel button for the AWD version, either way it explains the blank spot in the 5.0 Ultimate I've been driving lol.

Can the Rain Sensing Wipers be turned off and be used normally?

in the middle of the inside trunk lid there is a latching catch...no one at my dealer knows what/why it is?

Can the Rain Sensing Wipers be turned off and be used normally?

Windshield wipers
Operates as follows when the Engine
Start/Stop button is in the ON position.

MIST : For a single wiping cycle,
push the lever upward and
release. The wipers will operate
continuously if the lever is
held in this position.

OFF : Wiper is not in operation.

AUTO : The rain sensor located on
the upper end of the windshield
glass senses the
amount of rainfall and controls
the wiping cycle for the
proper interval. The more it
rains, the faster the wiper
operates. When the rain
stops, the wiper stops.To
vary the speed setting, turn
the speed control knob.

LO : The wiper runs at a lower speed.

HI : The wiper runs at a higher speed.

I was puzzled at first too and thought it might be a good location to hold an umbrella.

But on my new Audi A8 I have a similar plastic latch inside the trunk lid that holds a folding emergency hazard triangle.

Based on the numerous similarities I see between the new Genesis and Audi I think that they intended to have an emergency triangle marker there. I'll bet that they left it out for cost savings but that they will be available as optional add ons at some later date.

I had a sales guy tell me that was for hangers. I hoped my rolling eyes weren't too obvious.

My point is that there is not a traditional intermittent setting that the driver can completely control as in the pre-rain sense era.

What would be nice is if they could add a +/- button or lever to speed up or slow down the robot wipers. I've only used rain sensing wipers twice and both times I felt them incredibly annoying as they wanted to wipe much faster than I would like.

Exactly. There actually is a way to adjust them, but it's a placebo. I've fooled with those adjustments a hundred times and it never makes much difference. Audi and Chrysler allow you to turn it off and have a traditional intermittent function that the driver totally controls.

Yep, the auto wiper speed has been annoying my wife the past few days as well.

Parking lights setting will light only the LED strip in front, and rear tail lights.

A couple of questions to the current owners:

1. how do you guys like the full-range cruise control? That's one of the major peeve of mine with my 2010 4.8 tech package - it shuts off @ around 15 mph.

2. what exactly does that continuously adjusted suspension does on the 5.0 ultimate?

It's for emergency triangles, an accessory that wasn't ready for the vehicle when launched. It will be offered through the parts department in the near future, this has been confirmed by the director of marketing for HMA USA.

I posted about it earlier:

Umm no one? :)

Also have they fixed the cooling seat so that the back of the seat is also cooled, not the seat bottom only?

Can’t seem to find the designated keyword to call up a saved route from the address book. On my 2011 it used to be “Navigate” on my Infiniti G it’s “Destination” and then the name of the saved entry. Looked at the voice commands in the manual and can’t find any reference to it. Other than calling up a new address directly all other voice recognition commands seen to work fine. I know there’s a lot of chatter about the address command in general but I rarely use it. I’ve always used the manual input. All other voice commands appear to work well.
