  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post your 2015 Genesis Questions Here

I wish there was a way to share a destination from Google maps with the genesis app so you can send straight to your car from Google maps. The poi search within the app sometimes isn't as up to date. So when you search in google maps and pull up the poi when you hit the share button it would be nice to share with genesis at which point in time you log in and send the destination to your car

Are the maps in the Genesis Blue link app not the same Google maps?

Not completely. If i go to google search on the phone itself and search for a point of interest i generally always find it and can pull up the directions from there, but if I search for that same POI from within the genesis app it doesn't always find the location.

Oil Change Question:
The Owners Manual PDF found on this site calls for 6months/7500mile oil changes, while both the Quick reference Guide and Pocket Guide PDFs (also on this site) call for 12months/7500mile changes. Both are for normal usage (not severe usage).

Would any of the new owners be able to verify which is correct? My Lexus has the 6 month interval and it's a pain in the rear (and unnecessary IMO) for low mileage drivers.

Thanks in advance.

I'm fortunate (in a way) that due to where I live, I virtually never start the car and drive less than 5 miles. Usually more than twice that. Since I always fully heat up the engine, I opt for the longer interval. IF I was driving in an urban situation, I would lean toward the 6 month interval since acids tend to build up with short trips and cold engines.

Thanks for the info (and I tend to agree), but I'm also interested in what Hyundai recommends (or requires for the warranty).

Let me take a different approach:

Would someone who has a 2015 Genesis please peek in their Owners Manual and see if the interval for normal driving is 6mo/7500mi or 12mo/7500mi?

Thank you very much.

Actual manual says 7,500 miles or 12 months.

You’re welcome

So no way to permanently keep a full-sized ipod plugged in ... that's too bad. Will have to see if there's room for the old-style ipod cable and an old style nano.

Has anyone tried a low-profile USB memory stick to see if the car can read music directly from it -- did they improve the software?

That's good to hear. Do Samsung phones drop calls or disconnect/reconnect randomly like in the 2009-2014s?

These are the top rated tires on Tirerack (above Michelin pilot A/S). Holy Crap Hyundai actually got some good tires this time!!! :D

My current bag is a heavy cart bag and a bit long, so I might need to upgrade to a lighter/smaller carry bag.

Thanks, Gameday for the detailed responses!!!
I have a 32GB TINY USB stick plugged in with all my music. Works fine and will play random through some 4200 songs.

Anyone seen/have a list of all the little icons on the 9" screen? Especially those for a phone!
Thanks

Yes and yes, those features along with LKA (lane keep assist) have to be turned on by the user each time. There are times where I don't care to have those features on so them being off at start isn't a deal breaker of any sort for me.

I'll check how much reflection the navi screen gives and try to post a picture this upcoming weekend. I'll also post some pictures of the HID headlights in low/high beam.
LKA does not have to be turned on eah time you start your car.
Auto cruise does.

Thanks for posting that link.

The CD player in the first generation Genesis is a 6 CD changer that will play DVD's. The DVD-audio discs sound great on the Lexicon sound system (and video will even display when the vehicle is in park). The 2015 did away with the multi-CD changer, but will it still play DVD discs? (I know--I'm a dinosaur, but I really like the DVD-audio format).....

will not play DVD , I put one in and it did not read

But will it play DVD-A discs, which I believe are different than regular DVD-V discs?
