  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just bought pre-owned 2015 awd tech pack for 33,000. Seriously in love with this car.. More so than any car I've had in years!

Congrats and :welcome:

Is the 33k before or after tax, title, license?

Before. In the state I live in, you do t pay that at the dealership. I'll have to pay about another $1300 to get my plates. I'm hoping this is a good price. I was tanked in my Cts coupe.. If not.. I'll be driving it forever lol

I paid about 37k before TTL with 12k miles on a CPO 3.8 AWD Ultimate (looks brand new) a couple months ago, so 33k seems to be in line considering yours has a few more miles and is a package below which is a 3k difference new. I think you did just fine!

I am committed to buying a 2016 3.8 RWD genesis with the signature package. I'd like to get it black exterior with black interior. I am in the Los Angeles area. I'm trying to figure out what should be my target price before TTL. And any specific dealer and sales person to deal with?

Any help is appreciated!

I'm getting a quote of around 42k out the door on a 2015 Genesis 5.0. How's that deal? You think I can get them lower. Before tax, tag, title, it's about 38k. Thanks.

For a car that has limited availability and will be getting worse, any price near that is great. How low vs. how many there are left.

id say not so much. used ones with 10k miles are soft at 35 to 36k now. it sucks ya but its the prestige factor

Genentec, I'm not sure if you are quoting trade-in values that you've been quoted on your own vehicle, Manheim auction runs, or you're pulling a random number from a hat. Looking nationwide, there are 2 used 2015 Genesis 5.0 below $37k, both happen to be "factory" vehicles that are being sold at a dealer in PA. Most that have hit the preowned market are right around $40k.

However, with that being said I do agree that one should be able to do better than $38k on a remaining 2015 (new, not demo). I had a deal worked at $36.5 for a brand-new 5.0 with a sticker of $52.6 back on Feb 26th. Ultimately I went for a 3.8 Signature as I feel the depreciation hit will be less, as I only keep my vehicles for about 6 months. $29.6 purchase price on a $43.3 sticker.

that 29.6 for a signature is a great deal.

but if your saying u can get one for around 36k in the east coast, then we are just a few months away from it in the west coast.

that 36.5k is a great deal for a 5.0, but even then people would rather have the 3.8 and pay little less.

the 5.0 dh will follow the exact pattern of the gen 1 5.0 r spec.

2015 5.0 H-Trac Ultimate, came to 61k CAD or ~46K USD tax in last December.
Brand new on a document, but with ~200 miles on it.

Ouch! :(

2015 5.0 Black on Grey, only options were wheel locks, cargo mat and floor mats.

Sticker was $52,545. $14,000 off brought it to $38,545...amazing deal for the amount of car it is.

This article, along with most Bankrate commentary is worthless. They are comparing a 2014 Genesis vs. a 2015 model. Hardly apples to apples to start with. But even if it was apples to apples, this article is most likely pricing the depreciation hit off MSRP.

You can look through a dozen pages of this thread and unless you're talking about the first month or two of the new body release, no one is paying even close to MSRP. Based on current purchase price for new vs used (with most seeing $12-14k discount), the actual depreciation hit has been minimal.

If you paid sticker.....then yes, ouch!
