  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

Suga,
Way to go, and that a GOOD price in freedom dollars...

What city are you located?

Use AutoTrader, and cast a wider net....my 2 cents
I'm in the Reno/Sparks region. Only 1 local dealer. Next one was 50 away.
So off to California I went yesterday.... and returned home with a 5.0 base.
Wanted the Utimate pkg, but couldn't locate any in the Ext/Int color combo I was looking for. Figure I can suffer along with the base 5.0.

My intent was to 'slow down' and go with a car I will do more touring with.
Just sold my lightly modded 2009 Cadillac CTS-V with around 530 RWHP.
I think I can handle the rated 420HP of the Genesis. The challenge will be the learning curve for the technology for an 'old geezer'.

Oh... the MSRP was $52,580 and I wrote a check for $46,600 + Tx&Lic.
Not the deal of the century, but I can live with it.

Forget to mention a few other things - LOL
  • Free pin striping - I declined this as pin striping is the tackiest thing ever. They say i can change my mind and have it done whenever i want.
  • 1st oil change free - I might decline also as i am on a roll - LOL
  • Free tire replacement for life of car - I might accept this - LOL
:D

Congratulations! What are car, huh? V8 I guess?

After a couple of months of research and hand-wringing, I finally pulled the trigger and drove home a White/Black 5.0L base for $46,000 out the door (including TTL). It seems like on heck of a great deal and I'm super happy with the car. I bought from Hyundai IE in Loma Linda, CA.

It came with the rear Genesis decal already included. It seemed like all of their Gennies had it.

Congrats. Sounds like you got a great deal. The competition in LA and southern CA makes for some nice deals.

Hi All,

I just got back from negotiating a deal and was hoping to get some feedback.
I went in looking for Tech package but the numbers were not working at all, so we moved towards the Signature package. I let them know I wanted $0 down up front. After a bunch of back and forth we ended up at the following:
3.8 AWD Signature
36/10k - came down from 12k to make the numbers work
$400 per month including tax

I was happy with this deal until they came back with the deal sheet and there was an additional $2700+ up front consisting of first month, DMV and "fees". I did not get a long enough look at what the "fees" entailed. Has anyone else encountered an amount this high once the taxes were removed from the equation? I was ready to make the deal assuming I would pay first month and maybe a few hundred for dmv, etc. I was not prepared for almost $3k, especially since the taxes were already rolled into the monthly. The GM came over to discuss and said he could likely get it down to $2k by using their friends/family program, but that was still too high for me. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I am NY if that is useful information.

Thanks!

There is a fixed $595 Lease Acquisition Fee as well as title and registration (~$300) and a dealer fee ($~300). Aside from that, I would get a breakdown what those other fees were as that adds up to around $1,500.

Doing a VERY simplified math: 2000/36= 56 dollars.
A brand new 2015 signature for 456/month.
Sounds good.

It's not a bad deal I suppose. However, based on this message board alone, many people seem to have gotten better deals - with the Tech package and 12k miles for similar pricing. I would have thought the deals would be getting better since the 16's are on the way relatively soon. I am also trying to stick to a pretty strict budget, and that extra $50 bucks a month is really not something I was looking to spend. I haven't done much comparison shopping yet, so perhaps I can find someone to beat it. Of course, the new numbers come out tomorrow, so who knows which way the money factor and residual are going.

I feel you can get a deal 1K down and 400/month/12k. Spend the time and go to several dealers. Put the time in and shop. let the next dealer know the last deal. Ask about $500 discount coupons that Hyundai give the dealers for each Genesis they lease or sell. They used 5 of these $500 coupons for my deal.

Need to watch out for "turn-in" fees - any "redemption fees", paper prep. fees, etc. Since you're returning the car to a dealer when a lease is up, they get a second shot at you.

Yes Hyundai does get a second shot, Unless you trade in prior to the lease end for another Hyundai , Lease or purchase. Or you could purchase the lease vehicle.

Thanks for the advice, all. Much appreciated.
I went to another dealer earlier today and I was able to, in theory, get a deal that worked for me. I say "in theory" because they have to locate the car. They only had a black model on their lot, and I was shooting for white. I left a refundable deposit in order for them to locate the color. If they do not for any reason, the deposit will be refunded and we will go from there. With that said, they didn't seem to think it would be an issue locating it. The deal is as follows:
3.8 AWD with Signature
36/12
$405 per mo - includes taxes, etc
Upfront costs are first month and DMV only (assuming they don't try something tricky when I go pick up the car)

It seems like a fair deal.
Oh, they would not agree to switch the rear badge. However, they did agree to replace it if I supply the emblem. So I will order my own and have them do the work.
Thanks again for all the help, will update when things are finalized.
