If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Purchase Details so we all can prosper!

Good deal.

We bought the same car ('12 V-6 with tech) but it was new. Paid $37,500. Financed 72 mos @ .99% APR.
HI Philth, can you tell me how you financed the car at such a low rate, is this from a credit union?

Thanks much!

Ben

I did it through Navy Federal Credit Union. Their rate was 1.99% but they gave me another 1% off for being a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.

I already posted this in my original inquiry thread, but I picked up a new 2013 5.0 R-Spec (White/Cashmere) for $39.7K + TT&L with 1.9% APR for 60 months a few weeks ago. It was very easy to get to this price. I basically emailed the Internet Sales Manager for one local dealer (Roger Beasley in Kyle/San Marcos, TX) and received a quote for just over $40K. I asked if that was their best offer, and received a second quote for $39.9K. Another dealer (Round Rock) countered with $39.7K which Roger Beasley matched, and since Beasley is 20 miles closer to my house, I went with them. I traded in a 2010 Infiniti G37S 6MT with ~25K miles on it and received a reasonable (but not fantastic) trade-in value. I had a low payoff remaining on the car, so the applied equity helped lower the tax basis of the new car significantly. The only port-/dealer-installed options on the car were mud guards (which I had them remove before taking delivery) and a hard trunk mat. The MSRP on the car was just under $48K if memory serves.

Another dealer in Houston had a lower posted price of $37.7K but wouldn't actually give me a solid quote on the car, and I found criticisms of that dealer at several sources saying that the price posted on their Web site isn't necessarily the price that you'd pay in practice. Since they wouldn't send over a concrete quote on the car, I didn't have a good feeling about the dealer and decided to buy locally. I don't know how realistic that price is in practice.

I've been a happy 2012 V6 Tech sedan owner for 2 weeks now. 18k miles, 11 months in service, black/black, great condition, CPO. AutoCheck and Carfax reports were consistent: 1 previous owner, no accidents, no lease/rental, regular dealer maintenance. Paid just under $30k including 6.35% CT tax. Cash deal, no financing, no trade-in. My price paid was $1,000 below Edmonds' CPO valuation and $1,700 under KBB's CPO valuation.

Declined the HPP CPO Wrap (extended warranty for CPOs) from the selling dealer because of their pressure tactics. Called Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta and got a better quote ($1,349), went with them instead.

2013 r-spec new.
every thing I ever wanted for a car and this one delivers.
Paid $39.8k before tx&ttl.
1.9% Hyundai Finance for 60 months.
Dealer offers 1.5k (asked 3k originally) for LIFETIME UNLIMITED bumper to bumper and is transferable which I have until Monday to say yes or no.

$1.5K for the bumper to bumper warranty is not bad. From what I understand, and that is from speaking with a dealer they typically pay about $800.00 for that warranty. I would say you could of negotiated $1200.00 during the time of sale of the vehicle. But $1500.00 is still a fair price, compared to what I was quoted.

Lifetime? Do you mean 10 years/100,000 miles?

Nope, not 10/100k.
Yes, it's lifetime as long as you keep the car. I need to read the fine prints though before pulling the trigger.

Wow. And this is through Hyundai?

I would read the fine print carefully.

This is the first time I am hearing about this.

Is this Hyundai USA based, or only at this dealership?

Good luck.

yes, offered by the Hyundai dealer's finance guy.

Probably too late for you, but IMO, just because the FI guy offered a warranty package doesn't mean it's being backed by HMA.

Actuarially speaking, a lifetime warranty on these cars doesn't make sense.

Color me skeptical, but my guess is that it's a dealer-only warranty with LOTS of exclusions and fine print conditions. And if the stealership goes belly up, so does your warranty. If it covers:
1) No questions replacement of any radio or head unit related issues
2) No questions replacement of any powertrain related issues
3) No questions replacement of any brake module (ABS, master cylinder, etc.)

...then go for it. If not, then my recommendation would be to pass or go for an HMA backed extended warranty.

Sorry for late chimeing in...
I did pulled the trigger for this offer.
The car is actually covered by another lifetime power train warranty courtesy of its dealership via a national insurance company and it will be honored nation wide. Best thing is this deal is free of charge.
Another extended warranty I did actually paid for is not only will it cover lifetime power train warranty but also all remaining components of the car minus the normal wear & tear parts which is clearly stated by the contractual agreement. May I mention that It's funy that the way this contract was worded that it only stated the part/component that is NOT covered by it. So it was easy to see and it's transferrable to a subsequent owner.
This warranty is backed by CNA nationwide and it's been around sinve the 80's.
I did buy extended wty for other vehicles that I've owned to date so I'm extremely careful of what I see or read on the fine prints and this one is no exception.
I bought this extended thing mainly for the electronic portions of the car that is only covered thru 3/36k, namely the Lexicon sound system.

Finally found a car I liked, and after much debate went with a Platinum on Black CPO 2012 4.6. 10,261 miles, 14 months in service. Dealer replaced window tint due to scratches, performed laser alignment, and are rebadging trunk and wheels now. They are also providing the next GPS update.

$34.3k total paid including CA TTL and a $0 deductible Platinum HPP CPO wrap, which I really wanted. Price of car was $29.8k before the Wrap and TTL (Taxifonia...awesome!) Arranged 1.75% financing from our credit union and they could not match.

Tax and DMV and some CA fees was $2,900, and $1600 for the wrap. I might have done a tad better on the Wrap, but I felt I did well on the car and was ready to pull the trigger. I got enough else thrown in to make me happy.

In Broward County, Florida, Preferred Package White V-6 with iPod cable, mudguards, and sunroof deflector = $35,221.

OTD INCLUDING TAX, TAG, FEES, AND TITLE = $37,878 before the $3000 worth of rebates I had coming.

Purchase Date: 8/28/2013
Model: 2013 5.0 R-Spec (New)
Color: Titanium Grey / Black
Purchase Price: $37,961 + TTL (Total about $41K)
Finance: 0.75% APR / 48 months

BIG Thanks to "kf4zra" for sharing the details of his deal and the dealer with me. Helped a lot!

Loving the car and almost time for the first oil change.

lol, thats robbery give the car more respect than that, thats v8 no tech money. i find it hard to believe when consumers try to make ridiculous offers like that, i sell cars and if you make reasonable offers, alotta of times u may get it, when u make outlandish ones then you recieve no love. theres not even that much markup in the v8 with tech for u to even buy it at that price anyway, thats below INVOICE. make a fair decent one and maybe ull have luck, continue like that and youll be driving an azera.:)

My brother purchase a blk/blk with premium and tech packages for $36000 including EVERYTHING (taxes - doc - some kind of paint/rock protection)
Tameron Hyundai in B'ham, Al and the dealer delivered it to Mobile. His is nicer than my base model

Is that fair? - the dealer was happy and it did include some rebates in Aug and my brother is very happy

That's a great deal your brother got.

I am shopping for 2013 Silver with Black Interior + Premium Package.

Many dealers are giving me at $32K + Tax and DMV.

Is it a fair deal? I'm in SoCal(Greater LA), it is hard to find a deal like 37K for brand new R-Spec.

Anyone close to the central Virginia, North Carolina, should check the Roanoak Virginia Hyundai dealer, I bought my $2012 V-6, Tech Genesis back in March 2012 and got $7000 off, they now have 2013 V-6 & V-8 at over $10,000 off sticker. I drove about 100 miles to get mine and was extremely pleased.
They go by First Team, check out their website

Charlie

WOW, just checked out the website for First Team Hyundai in Roanoak Virginia and they have some awesome prices compared to my neck of the woods. It would be worth my while to hope on a plane and make my purchase up there if I can't get a local dealer to match those prices.

Anyone have any buying price data from the 2014 Equus. Including Ultimate? I am considering one to add to the fleet. Did not see much in the Equus forum. Thanks
