  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

R2C Cold Air Intake Interest??

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

R2C must be solving quite the conundrum because I called them at 7:36AM PST and now its three hours later (10:36AM) and I haven't heard back. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant (I believe she's the same person I spoke to on Wednesday) but I'm more concerned about results here and they don't seem to be matching my expectations.

Same woman I spoke to. She was nice and put me on hold for about 5 minutes and came back and said they were "actually ready to ship today and she would have my tracking number when they do". I'm impatient I guess :)

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

I suppose nobody asked RC2 to jump on board for $8 per month as an Authorized Vendor, huh?

I didn't, but I also wasn't working with them initially to develop it. I just jumped on board at the end and ordered one from their site.

I can't say I've had that conversation with them :)

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

It costs $96 to advertise here for a full year. That gives me a few dollars to offset costs like advertising, hosting, licensing fees, software upgrades, server administration and more. I'd love to provide this platform to businesses for free but I financially can't afford to do that. It would be nice if vendors would just sign up instead of me having to chase them down. This is probably the least expensive (I bet by far) site to sell products on. I charge practically nothing.

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

So I just called them to follow up on this mornings conversation because I didn't get a call back as promised and they are closed for the business day. I have to say I'm getting tired of the run around and so far R2C is one of the worst vendors I have dealt with.

Since they are closed for business I have sent them the following response using the contact form on the R2C website:

Title: Awful customer service and vendor experience

I purchased an R2C intake on Friday April 10th for my 2010 Hyundai Genesis with the 4.6 V8. I was billed that day and a shipping label was created. I called on Wednesday April 15th to follow up on my order as tracking information indicated the package still hasn't been sent out. The woman I spoke to on the phone was vague about the delay but promised the package would go out on Thursday along with a t-shirt due to the delay. Today (Friday April 17th) I called again as the package has still not gone out and the same woman answered the phone. She wasn't sure as to what caused the delay but took down my phone number and said she will call back. I just called your business to follow up as I have not received a call and found that you are closed for the business day. At this point in time a week has gone by since you took my payment but have not shipped the product. I have also been lied to three times, the first time when I was told the package would arrive within 5 days of ordering, the second when I was told it would ship on Thursday and the third when I was told I will receive a call back once you figure out what’s going on. This goes without saying but this has been a pretty awful experience on many levels and I routinely purchase items from many different vendors so it’s fair to say I have reasonable expectations. I'm also an active member on various car forums (Genesis Coupe, Genesisowners, G35Driver, Citydata Automotive, etc) and am vocal about my vendor experience, whether negative or positive. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible and provide an honest response as to what has delayed shipment and when I can expect to receive it.

I'm right there with you dude. Just a bit of honest communication. I don't care as much if there's a delay. Just be upfront with it. Don't bait us along. It's a losing tactic in the long term. Never understood why vendors just don't just give the facts instead.

I didn't think of that, I do apologize and willing to donate!

I didn't call them but e-mail was smooth, mine was shipped about 4 days after payment.

Thank you. If RC2 ever comes back I'll talk to them about becoming an Authorized Vendor...

On another note - I just saw your signature. Would you mind sending me a PM with a little information on your Impala? My brother in law wants to do exactly what you did. He also has a 96...

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

Pretty sure mine is shipping today. Got a ups notification saying to expect delivery tomorrow.

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

A little sticker shock for me. I wasn't expecting a piece of tubing and a filter to cost $259. Just not sure if it is worth it to me.

Yeah, but it's about in line with what an AEM, K&N, or Injen would charge you for a customized, limited run part. They've got to recoup a large chunk of development cost with each unit sold.

I figure they have to mark these up much more per unit compared to an intake for a Mustang where there's a much larger demand for an intake.

My tracking info shows mine got picked up on Saturday but still no contact from R2C, not from the woman who said she'd call back on Friday nor from anyone who reads the online customer contact forms. This experience has really soured me on R2C in terms of future purchases. At the very least someone can man up and call to say they apologize for the poor follow up and that's without getting into the broken promises.

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

call up and speak with ed, he was very helpful with me when I purchased mine. Never had to contact them after installation.

I've had mine on for over a month now and love it.

I hope you get yours.

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

I've been trying to order since day one and have experienced the same exact thing glad its not just me. No call backs, lies and rude people on the phone. I asked to speak to the owner and I think girl put me through to someone else was absolutely no help either and honestly didn't care about anything I said. Ive been building cars for 20 years and been sponsored by over 25 manufactures and have never been treated like this. If it wasn't the only option I would have given up. Worst service ever!

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

Not the only option. Ended up building my own.

Still waiting on call back and emails.

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

It's good/bad to hear that I'm not the only one to experience such flaky service from R2C. It really doesn't bode well for the business because regardless of how good the product is, people will remember the purchase hassles and will be sure to mention it to others. If someone asks me about R2C products you can be sure I'll describe the experience in detail. They were better off saying its going to be a 1-2 week wait prior to shipment rather than lying and saying its shipping next business day.

Re: Cold Air Intake Interest??

funny how all the order options are removed on all items on website?

Yeah, I guess that means I got one of the last ones :). Mine is out for delivery. I'll post pictures this evening when I start the install. Hopefully the quality isn't as poor as their communication was during the transaction.
