  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Siberian Ice v. Casablanca White

I really wanted to like the Siberian Ice. I was torn between g70 and stinger. With the Stinger, no question, I wanted the ceramic silver.

With the G70, no color really 'spoke to me'. The Siberian ice, with the sports package, I thought would have too many colors? Red calipers, dark wheels, copper accents, and then black windows? I thought it would be too much.

I ended up choosing dark grey which I hope will look good and cohesive once dark tints are placed.

Uh. What the heck is going on with front plate.
It's a tow hook bracket. No holes drilled. Even though the stock plate bracket holes would be very hard to see, I didnt want any holes.

I think he was referring to the distorted image.

Which bracket did you end up buying? How do you like it?

I still haven't put on my front plate. Like you, i don't want to drill any holes.

One of the few that love the CW.....not a fan of how SI changes depending to that blueish hue under certain light color temps

Casablanca White is such a beautiful color as well. I receive so many complements on the color. It is the whiteist of white. What surprised me was in direct sunlight you can see the pearl metallic in the paint. Awesome!

I just bought G70 3.3 Sports Prestige in SI color. I just love it and my calls my car is a Chameleon because it looks different in different light conditions.

Congratulations on your new G70!

When I started this thread three years ago I was fairly certain that I would end up with the Siberian Ice, however by the time I was finally able to purchase, in July 2020, the Siberian Ice was not available in my area, so I decided to go with the Uyuni White, which I do like…but I still think about that Siberian Ice…😪

When I saw your reply I thought “good idea for a discussion topic because I want SI on my future G70.” Then I looked at who started the thread...I knew my memory was going bad...but yikes 😮

Here a photo I took if a G80 SI that I saw in a parking lot.View attachment 15559

I'm jumping in here. I live in Canada and I have a 2018 Elantra GT Sport, 6 speed, and absolutely love the little thing, Just got married and we had to sell my wife's vehicle in the USA as she is now an Ab. resident, and we were not to going to go through the conversion of her 2013 Kia Soul to bring it to standards. Also, it is not on the RIV list as an importable vehicle.

I have ordered, and it is en route, a 2022 Siberian Ice 3.3T Sport. My Elantra is a beautiful white, and I damn near went with the white, and changed my mind to the SI. I am looking very forward to delivery soon!

Here’s it in the garage and you can really see the gray in it
Bro that’s fire! I just bought a 2019 G70 I love the car, it definitely turns heads. But I hate my wheels. Where did you get your wheels? That’s what I’m looking for!

How is the Uyuni white? I read it is supposed to have pearlescent properties being it's a mica paint? Should have more dimensionality than the SI, as SI is a solid paint. I ordered a metallic Havana red, but the Uyuni white is very tempting (but I wasn't allow to change my order lol).

Hi JSKS75!

Well the color is very nice and the paint quality is excellent, I would not say that it has any “pearlescent” properties, such as you will commonly find on Lexus vehicles.

I would not go so far to say is it looks “flat” such as a flat house painted it’s definitely “glossy”. In my experience the “pearlescent” paint tends to not be as “white” as other white car paint.

I was very interested in the Siberian Ice and what probably steered me towards the Uyuni White, aside from the limited availability of the Siberian Ice, was that in most cases they Siberian Ice looked more toward the light blue side then toward the gray side. I have a light blue 2011 Elantra which I do like, but I did not want to get another car that looked that similar.

Enjoy the red. That was the first one that I ever had a “test ride” in prior to them being out for sale and I thought the color looked very nice.
