  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spyshots of 2021 G70 facelift

KCB is reporting the same thing - G80 Sport w/ 420 HP.

Interesting... I assume we’re looking the vehicle third from the right?
Looks like a hatchback, almost like a longer veloster. To the right of that I see corvette lines, and on the far right something from the new VW electric line lol.
Maybe I’m bad at car shapes.

Mystery car, Essentia and Mint.

While more likely a compact wagon/shooting brake, could also be the BEV CUV (which would also explain the lower height).

I have looked everywhere, haven't found anything.

I tried looking through the Korean Genesis site and I couldn't find anything either... 😕

It’s kinda funny. That would mean the 3.5TT Sport would have the same HP as the 5.0 V8 of the previous Gen. I highly doubt that this is true as it was posted on a car news page on Instagram for April Fools day.

Damn. I didn't know that. Here I am getting my hopes up only to be let down! Haha.

Here's the link for the Korean Car Blog article, in case anyone wants to see it... Doesn't really give us any more information, though.

Found an article supporting a 420BHP version of the 3.5tt; but, for all we know it's still based on the same April fool's source.

Genesis Has Great News About The 2021 G80

I must admit I find myself hoping it's true. Beginning to feel like one of these suckers....

2.5T G70. Seems like they are finally adding Brembo’s to the 4 cylinder Sport Model.

Does the automatic 2.0t sport not have brembos? I have brembos on the manual 2.0t sport...

Funny enough, I'm actually looking forward to trying out the 2.5T as a possibility for my next lease in a couple years. I love my 3.3, but the loaner 2.0 sport I had was almost peppy enough, and definitely had snappier handling that I appreciated. Also, that 3.3 absolutely gorges itself on fuel.

Same here with the 2.5T I think it’s the right amount of HP for me.

Don't know about you guys, but after gapping my plugs and running the JB4, my gas mileage is about 14mpg on average in the city. And only about 25-26 on the freeway in Eco. When I had the original plugs in there I was getting 30mpg highway in the same conditions (ie not too fast, light traffic, flat roads, eco mode). I've got a new set of plugs being shipped, hopefully they'll allow a larger gap and, subsequently, better gas mileage.

That said, gas mileage has been painfully bad as of late. Luckily gas is becoming cheaper and cheaper, but who knows how long that will last.

Considering all of the above, I will have a really hard time deciding which engine I want. The new 2.5 seems PERFECT. But, I always want more power, so I may splurge and get the 3.5, as it will still have better mpg than the current 3.3. Nice thing about the new engine choices is that you cannot go wrong with either of them.

Though I agree the 2.5 with 300 hp would be fine I do like the extra torque of the 3.5 especially after coming from 376 lbs of torque. I like the feeling of effortless movement.

There's also the sound factor... the 3.3 sounds SO much better.

Huh? 2.0L sounds better than the 3.3tt... what makes you think the 2.5L is gonna sound worse than the 3.5tt?

I like the sound of both engines but I like how the 2.0T sounds right now. 2.5T is probably going to sound better if they add an active exhaust on it like the 3.5TT.

I suspect they'll both sound different, and probably better, due to the increased stroke, and the new valve duration and timing control.

Very very true.
