  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there room for a trunk lid? In that one shot it looks like it might be a hatch?! Maybe? Like the A7/Stinger? Perhaps wishful thinking on my part...

I wish it were a Hatchback but it looks like a normal sedan. I could be wrong but it would be perfect for Genesis to have such a model In the portfolio.

You guys are going through the same anticipation I had back in 2013 waiting for MY 2015 Genesis to arrive. I’ve got that same bug again after reading through all 20 pages of your posts. I love my Genesis V8 an hope there is still a chance for the new generation to have one with that option. They dropped the Monticello Blue with the next generation that came out as the Genesis (not Hyundai version) which pissed me off as I really like that color.

I will keep tabs on your updates and see how this next generation pans out.

I’m anticipated in the sense for a new Genesis product coming out and seeing the other people in the community buy the next gen model. I agree on the blue factor as well and I hope that Genesis will start to offer exciting color within this generation of the G80. I want to see Polar Ice return as well for the Sport versions. This generation of the G80 will be phenomenal but we should never forget what started it all with the first two generations.

I completely agree, I have that bug so bad haha. I hope this new generation may still have a V8. It would be great to send it off as a celebration if they decide to drop it after this new generation. In Australia we only got the 3.8 six cylinder, it would be incredible to get a V8.

I’m so excited to see all the features because the new Sonata has raised the bar. I can only imagine the features the G80 will have. Hopefully more spyshots, images and videos get released. It’s felt like such a long wait, I know it will come.

I’d have a hard time going away from the V8. It’s endless power band is amazing. The new features I have with this car I could not do without. Heads Up Display, Auto Hold, auto braking etc... and the Google Search function that comes with the Bluelink option is a must have. The new models now have the top down camera view of the car which would be awesome to have.

^Yes and there was a post I linked a while back which confirmed September, for the Korean market.

Models I am looking forward to see on that list is the G80, GV80, SP 2 and K5/Optima.

So all the cars in that list are going to be in 2019?

But at least we could see them finally!
True but I was just saying that it won’t come to our market until early-mid 2020.

I still don't think that video got the grill pattern right; the grill will definitely be thinner and more simple than the G70s and more like the new G90. But what I like about the video is that it mocks up the DRLs alone without headlights. With the spyshots up until now I haven't been convinced of the lined headlights, but in that render it looks great and really carries the Essentia essence. The grill size seems more reasonably proportioned in the render vs spyshots, so hopefully that's accurate.

Check out the G90. It has the 5.0. There is still hope for the G80 to have it.
