  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sunroof Rattle

As an update, after a third application (and almost emptying a 10 oz of lube spray), my car's rattle sounds are about 85% gone. I will probably wait and watch a week and apply another coat and hope it is entirely gone for good.

What kind of lube spray are you using? I bought a tube of white silicon grease and applied a ton but the stupid knock is still there!

Hmm, I used this: http://www.cyclo.com/C33V.html

But it perhaps has more to do with which parts you covered with the application. Follow previous examples by Ckon for reference.

I also bought felt tape yesterday and will attempt to use that to knock of the remaining 20% of knock I still get.

Don't regard my pic as a guide as to what to lube - it was only a reference to names I was using to ID parts I was talking about. The rule of thumb that worked for me is "If it's plastic or rubber and the pano roof is anywhere near it, LUBE IT!" Of course, YMMV. Good luck. :)

Thanks! I will try that one. The knock seems to have lessened a bit this morning, but it could be my imagination wishing for the best.

thanks i signed up. Mac

You are welcome. Did you find any usable info?
It's little hard at the beginning to find out where you need to look it, I found the fog light wiring for 2015 , and pictures from inside the bumper.
I will do the installation tomorrow on my Genny:) will post updates

I am happy to report that after installing felt tape across the corner of the roof (right above the passenger's head) and drive-testing it around town for 2 days, the knock has entirely vanished :)

It feels so good to be knockfree :)

Did your 3rd part installers use that as a reference? If so, that eases my nerves as it would be an official guide by Hyundai, not some electrician guessing his way through.

Is there a lot of info on the 2015 on that site?

I rejoice in your knockfree Happiness!! I have not driven my car in the two days since filing every cavity with the silicon due to the high winds in NYC afraid of damage . Will report back when the winds let up. Mac

Yes I found a service campaign to reflash the navigation on the ultimate package equipped 2015 Gennys. Great site but is a bitch to navigate it as laymen.Mac

Is it meant to correct some issues? I find my nav screen freezes from time to time and even the backup camera fails to work in reverse - until I reset it by pulling out the SD card. When I asked the dealer, they had no TSB on it. Wonder if your discovery resolves it.

its not a tsb but a service campaign. I will see if I can copy and paste it give me a minute to look again. Mac

Umm, thanks for the update. Guess it address the 2014 Genesis and the new Sonata. Not quite what I was hoping for but thanks anyway! Good to know such a resource is out there.

The fuel reimbursement is for cars made from 2009-2011, but anyway you can check your VIN if you eligible , I have a month old, tried to see, of course I am
not eligible.

Fuel purchase reimbursement????

GREAT NEWS! Now the questions: Where did you get the felt tape and exactly (preferably with pics) where did you apply it?

Did your 3rd part installers use that as a reference? If so, that eases my nerves as it would be an official guide by Hyundai, not some electrician guessing his way through.

Is there a lot of info on the 2015 on that site?

No , they couldn't because the wiring isn't there. I hoped that the wiring would be there and they could use it. So they had to wire it themselves, if the wiring would be there, I would need the 5.0 turn signal switch where is the fog light switch.

Yes, I saw that too, but since I bough my car in September, it's already done. It's kinda hard to find what you looking for, but there is search window, you choose the model and year, and can type some keywords , for example I put noise, and it gave me all issues with noises and how to fix them.
Also for 2015 there is complete explanation where everything is located like these blind spot sensors with pics and electric wirings
and if any updates needed.
