Tesla is made in the USA? Sure. It is also made in China, Germany, etc. And...once again...fanboy information making it seem like all their profits come from USA manufacturing.

They just started China production like this month and just announced Germany, there isn't even a plant built there yet. Don't complain about other people exaggerating or spreading misinformation when you are doing the exact same thing.

Also I am really surprised (not just here but in general) how many people really, really hate Tesla. I get not liking the styling of the cars (I agree they aren't the best) and I agree Elon can be a douche. But in general, you have a new car company in the US doing some pretty amazing stuff and trying to be different and causing all the other manufacturers to up their game. To me this is a good thing even if you don't like the company. I mean how many other brand new car companies have started up in the last 50 years with the same kind of success? But some people just seem so damn angry when it comes to Tesla I find it really odd. There are way worse companies out there.

That said I find Tesla fanboys some of the worst, but I wouldn't classify Dimitry as one.

Go to any brand-specific enthusiast forum and create a thread about another brand and there will be haters coming out of the woodwork. Lol

Again...not true. The China and Germany factories are indeed new...but what does that matter? They exist (or will shortly) thus proving my point.

To add and further prove my point...they have 3 (perhaps more) factories in and around Tilburg, Netherlands since 2013. So yeah...not entire made in the USA now...is it?

So I am not exaggerating or spreading misinformation and as such...I can 100% complain if others do.

the problem i have with tesla is (not only Musk) that they misinform there customers stating" they have ground breaking auto pilot", maintenace less vehicles, oh save the environment bs (bev still causes pollution they just 1/3 cleaner than ice) ect ....., and the owners let it get to there head act like they sh#t dont stank, they act like the have something unique that no one knows about or doent have. Well i have news for you ,in realty here on the west coast the are everywhere (nothing different when everyone here drives one) and on the highways driving so damn slow causing traffic in HOV , im sorry there cars ARE boring and nothing luxurious about the interiors, feels like sitting in a empty room with a chair and a coffee table and a tablet.

What is a US Built car anyway? If you look at the window sticker it it built from 50% US and Canada parts. 20% Mexico and who knows what else. At best, you are buying only half an American car. Maybe Musk will send you a flag to wave when you buy one?

@MG8, What bothers me is that you and others make these broad statements, characterizing Tesla owners in general in a negative light, with all these pre-conceived notions as to what these owners are thinking.
My wife and I experienced this kind of attitude first-hand when she was driving a Prius. All we wanted was a car that got great mileage (it got an honest 50mpg overall average) because she was putting on 30k miles a year and it satisfied all of our needs and the time. It did exactly what it was intended to do, and needed very little maintenance. We had to deal with people acting like asshats, scratching the car and making crazy comments and assumptions as to our motivations.
People come out of the woodwork with some kind of axe to grind and take it out on the owners. It's tiring.
Isn't it possible that a majority of Tesla owners just happen to like the car, either for it's styling (I don't), or it's power or because they can charge it (at least partially) with their house? I know if I lived in a sun-drenched area, the thought of charging my car with my house's solar panels would be very enticing. None of these reasons make the buyers stupid or zombies. They just have different preferences than you do.

Well thats because, the "quote" tesla owners acts that way, most every tesla owner including my family members that own a tesla seem to try and one up you or act like they are smarter than you. thats what i observe and thats the vide i get. Then you have the few humble cool ones like yourself and your wife, but the OTHERS give tesla that reputation.

Ok, so you're characterizing nearly three quarters of a million owners based on your experience with a few.
Also, sometimes people's excitement and enthusiasm for their particular choice of product is misinterpreted by others as an "I'm better than you" attitude.

Generalizations are generally wrong. The problem is not the majority but a small minority. Yes, a few Prius owners were the same way showing their superiority as human beings because they care about saving the planet. Not just cars, there is always the one guy that knows best about golf clubs, cameras, stereos, and everyone else is an idiot.

My wife has a cousin that I've known for over 50 years. Nice guy, extremely smart, interesting to talk to, could afford a fleet of Bentleys if he wanted them. Then he bought a Prius. Yes, he became "that guy".

i guess so,it is what it is. but even in the underground racing community those tesla guys talk alot of smack.

My issues are not with any of the EV owners on this planet. I have a problem with Tesla owners who are fanboys...as is with any product.

But to add...my issues with Tesla is the CEO...the price gouging of their product...the way the price goes up and down because he f'ing feels like it...the way he manipulates stock (claims he is going private...tells stock owners to ignore the failing price, etc). The shit with Musk and his Tesla company go on and on. There are sooo many other things that are wrong with Tesla as a company. Nobody can deny that.

My neighbor has one. We drink beer. Great guy. But if I ever catch the f$%ker driving down my street reading the paper in one hand and sipping on a coffee with the other...I can guarantee you I will pull him out of his car...hook all the batteries up to his wife's dildo...and shove it soooo far....well...you get the drift...LOL.

Haha, that's what racers do. It's that competitive spirit.
Maybe not a great analogy, but maybe you remember when some brash guy from Florida named Don Garlits showed up on the SoCal drag scene with a weird looking rear engined dragster. All the other racers laughed and looked down their noses at him. Then he kicked their asses. How many modern top fuel dragsters are front engined today? Zero. Classic paradigm shift.

Don't let your winding varnish tarnish.

EVs are a trick anyway, its all done with magnets.

I get the desire for commuters for high MPG, etc. My wife commutes 2 hours/100 miles per day. She ended up with a Toyota RAV4 hybrid which gets 45+ mpg. Had nothing to do with environmental concerns.

However, Teslas are way over priced. We could have bought two RAV hybrids for the price of one Tesla model S or X. The slight premium of the hybrid over the standard car is easily recouoped with the commute. That same MPG argument doesnt really work with the Teslas because the premium of a $100k car would take forever to recoup. Plus, if you can afford $100k for a car, who cares about the MPG costs?
