  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Beef's G70

Finally got a break from the stupid heat and humidity!!!

High of about 79...zero humidity.

Turbos texted me...wanted to go for a ride :drive:

Went for an hour spirited drive on some country roads. No racing...LOL.

Fresh tank of 99 octane...Map 3.

Fme this car is a missile. Been a while since the heat. 30-40 mph...head is simply buried in the headrest...and she just keeps going.

The handling to boot.

Such a great afternoon!!!

Best purchase and best car of my life.

Cheers!!
Do you have an aftermarket intake?

Wanted to drive my car today but it was raining.. 😡

Yeah...odd post to be added to the Beef's thread o_O

Close the sunroof...you'll be all set ;)
Sorry.. Just wanted to write about how excited I get to drive it (like you) but I just spent a whole day cleaning it up and wasn't looking fwd to getting it dirty already. 😄

Edit- my original msg probably would have made more sense if I had quoted your comment from sat. My bad!

No, see. You drive it out in the rain all you like. Then you clean it again the day/week after. The rain won't be that bad on your car, unless the water is real salty. I have the 3.3t RWD, so i was a little averse at first to getting speedy in the rain, but it still has a surprising amount of grip even on wet highways.

A beautiful and well handled car should be driven in every possible conditions. It's not a museum, there is no point keeping the beauty in the garage just for gawking.
If I've just washed or waxed mine I totally keep it in the garage until the roads are dry. If I need something from the liquor store my wife can drive hers.

Yeah, I avoid it too if I can. Too lazy to wash the car again once the sun comes back out

So...quick update. My first road trip by myself.

I have gone about 1.5 hours with the family. Comfort...nothing fancy....great fuel mileage.

I had to do a business trip from Richmond to Norfolk this week...on my own.

So going to Norfolk...6am drive..no cars. I went Comfort most of the way. Remember...I am running Map 3 with 99 octane.
It's like the JB4 is dormant in Comfort...which is fantastic. Not sure of the miles...but essentially a 2 hour drive with zero traffic. 70 F...no A/C...and I hit Sport twice to advance a couple of idiots. 1/8 of my tank. Fantastic if you ask me !!!!

On the way back...afternoon...tons of traffic...96 F...windows closed and A/C is on. Going between Comfort and Sport to pass idiots, etc. I blew through a 1/4 tank same distance.

But I am not writing this to talk about fuel mileage. Yes...in Comfort even with the all my goodies...it is quite brilliant.

What I want to say is...this is the first time that I have had a run at highway driving on my own for a long distance.

Fme sideways. I would put it in Sport...and pass about 10 cars at once. This thing would go 40mph to 100mph in like 2 seconds. My head was thrashed back. I mean insane.

Of course in VA...everyone is in the left lane...worst drivers on the planet. I would see an opening...nail it...and this thing would GO !!! OMG...what a beast.

Now...on my journey...I had Civic Si's mess with me (LOL)...but the best was a Carrera 4S. Huge fat tires in the back...dude could not keep up...almost funny. This is a 4.1 second car. Every time...."see ya".

I swear to you...I felt like I was driving a super car. Nuff said.

For any of you 3.3T folks out there...considering some fun...dear Lord the JB4 is the way.

Ever had a tractor trailer inch in on you? You are 1" from their rear..and they put on their signal? I would hit it...and 1 second later I am in front of them.

Anyhoo...just another rant from me. Have fun folks !

The car is pretty fast stock, can't imagine how much faster it is with the jb4. Going to jump on that bandwagon soon.

Glad you are enjoying it!

Always up for a good @Beefer story!

Carrera 4S is like 3.9 to 60 and 12.3 in the 1/4 mile! Damn your car must fly

Pre-2020...I’m all over it. I have posted before with my 911 kill...not going there.

Point is...sub 4 seconds...for $48k..and a little “help”.

That’s why I bought this car....sooooo tunable.

Beefer,

What kind of time do you think you are running with the jb4?

I'm really interested in the JB4. My 3.3 is on a lease so I've been hesitant to buy it for this car. I know for the genesis I buy 3 years from now I'll definitely be buying it. I know the JB4 will greatly improve the performance, but I saw another post somewhere where some of the other components of a car couldn't handle the additional power, for example; sparkplugs. Has that been an issue for you? Is the JB4 the only installed component or did you add some other parts as well?

I'm also interested in the times as well, does it become a sub-4 or 4-4.5s car?
