  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Things you love about the G70

When you plan on buying a Q50S, then you end up buying a G70 because the Q50's interior is so dated and trash lol

Havent seen this mentioned, but I am sure some of you have noticed that if you park the car with auto hold on, it will apply the parking break automatically. I am trying to think of what other tricks I know coming from a fully loaded sonata. So far everything here mentioned is the same, usually the mirror tilt while in reverse is not common knowledge but it's been touched on already!

For me, one of the coolest and convenient upgrades has been the rain sensing wipers! I get tired of having to constantly hit the stalk up to "mist" when you're in traffic with wet roads or just that perfect amount of misty rain that no interval level works on the wipers without them dragging across the windshield because its drying out quicker than it gets wet. Hoping this will solve that pet peeve lol

Love love love the lexicon sound system. Much improved from the Infinity premium system in the sonata.

Love everything else so far as well (minus the way too cramped back seat, but I knew that when I got it and said screw it, I have no kids or friends anyway 😂).

You actually used the auto wipers that much? I’d love to have back a fully variable intermittent wiper function. The auto function is for the birds. It’s either on warp drive when it should not be, or too slow to wipe the mist. I’ve learned to turn auto function on and off at times to reset things somewhat for correct speeds based on rain. Sometimes it’s fine, but as rain gets faster or slower and goes to just mist, seems slow to correctly adjust for the condition at that moment.

I've noticed that you need to be moving for the wipers to work in auto mode. It's annoying, if I'm stopped at a traffic light, they won't wipe, so I need to do it manually if I want to have a clear view of the light, and what's happening in the intersection. My previous car didn't have this issue.

Evidently there are some problems getting it right with the sensors or something. Mine work fine and I don't have to be moving. Others have complained so they have work to do to get them right.

In my short experience, this is how I would explain their usage/set up. Set to auto, and then the intermittent levels change the SENSITIVITY, rather than the speed if you're sitting still. This also applies while driving BUT as you're driving, speed increases on the wipers as more rain hits your windshield. They seem to be working perfectly for me, no annoyances yet but like I said, in my short experience lol

I have mine set this way, and I still find I have to constantly fiddle with both the sensitivity setting as well as stopping/starting the wipers completely. This is one area where I think the Genesis engineers failed in the implementation of technology, I feel I'm far better off with normal intermittent wipers as I wouldn't have to make nearly so many adjustments.

Hmm while I will agree to disagree, maybe time will tell. I think maybe there is still some user input that plays a part in level of satisfaction too, so maybe my opinion is more positive than others which definitely seems to play a part in a few other features in this car. Level of expectation can make or break an opinion too, if that perhaps is playing a part here.

Total 180, another trick I've noticed is the tie down hooks in the trunk made for the net that comes with the car (I think it does at least), act as a nice tie down point for any other security source one could come up with. AND as thinking of this, in case some of you havent decided to flip your carpeted trunk matt over, it acts as a "cargo liner" on the flip side. Maybe not as "complete" as a weathertech but good enough for me to save the 180 bucks or whatever it is for the actual weathertech liner. I have the laser cut interior liners but never bother with the trunk because of this feature that the standard carpet liner has. The sonata had this and it took me a while to figure that out randomly.

Yes, the reversible trunk mat is a nice feature, but beware - those handy tie down hooks are plastic.
Regarding the wipers, I think there must be a lot of variability from car to car. Some (most?) owners have no issue, but my windshield can be covered with rain at a stop and they won't activate with the sensitivity set to medium or high. I haven't taken it to the dealer, figuring there's not much they can do, but maybe I'll mention it next time I'm there and see what they say. (Since I do my own oil changes, I don't really have much need to go there.)

Just returned from the home center with a ten foot piece of lumber. It fits inside the car with the nose against the windshield, resting on the dash and cushioned by a towel. Rear seat is lowered and there is about two more inches of clearance of the tail of the lumber before the trunk latch. I thought about eight foot but needed ten. Unsure of space. Bought the ten and perfect fit.

Also, from a month ago with both seats down in back my bike will go into the trunk though it is a wrestling match and requires going through the passenger doors and back to the trunk and so on. Really only for a trip to the bike shop which was what that was for.

  1. I love how this car looks. To me this car is just beautiful.
  2. When you want to get up and go, this car does so with amazing zeal. Seems much quicker to get up to speed than the 5.0 V8 Genesis
  3. My gawd that boost is addicting as @*@*. Every day when I drive to work or drive home, I try to make the entire drive in eco mode. I can never make it. It just feels amazing to drop down into sport mode and just hit it. Especially with AWD, this car gets up and goes like no car I've ever owned. I can't imagine how the JB4 feels.
  4. I love the updated Lane Keep Assist. My 5.0 sedan used to ping-pong off the lane markers (and sometimes ignore them entirely). This car faithfully keeps the car centered in the lane you're in (unfortunately though it still gets confused by off-ramps and turning lanes).
  5. Stereo is much better than the one in my 5.0
  6. Android Auto and Apple Carplay (was not available to Genesis Ultimate owners)
  7. Best-handling car I've ever owned.

Took a mini road trip to a neighboring state for some Top Golf followed by a couple rounds of Go Carting and absolutely loved the drive there and back. High School buddy snored all the way home and my 15 year old son found enough comfort in the back to fall asleep as well. Its rare that I push a vehicle past 80 MPH but there was a short stint following a 4th gen Acura TL where we approached triple digits. I don't make a habit of going that fast but it is nice to know how composed and drama free it is at speed.

I have the 2.0t with 6 spd, so that is what I'll talk about. This car rides soo smooth. How it absorbs small imperfections of all kinds on the road surfaces is unreal. Sometimes it is like riding on a planted cloud, if that make sense. It always feels composed and in control, but smooth. There are times the car gives the impression it bends itself around corners.
The seats, even though only pleather are, for me super comfortable. The wife and I both love the ventilated feature. We drove this car on some errands, then later hopped in her Outback with leather and it felt like the seat heaters were on.
I think the stereo is awesome.
This car, to me is the essence of a Grand Touring car. Is it perfect?, no, but it's damm good.

I'd be really interested to try the manual.

Any 3.3 owners drive the 2.0 recently? Since my car is at the dealer, I'm in a loaner today. I was running late to work today and I was surprise at how much pep this thing has in the 70+mph range!

As nice as it is, I'm so glad I never test drove this before buying my 3.3. I would have ended up with the 2.0 and massive jealousy

I agree. The 2.0 is really good. Much like you though, I would always be wondering what it would be like to have the big dog motor.. Glad I bought the 3.3 as well and so are the local gas stations :ROFLMAO:

Gotta get a credit card that gives you extra points on gas!
