Does anyone know where I can get a drl / accent light wiring diagram for both the 2015 sedan and the 2016? I want to hard wire the accent lights to act as the drl's.

it's been discussed.. your probably better off waiting a few months until the 2016/17's are commonplace.. im guessing the headlights are probably the same with the change in the software

another huge hyundai screw up, the 2016's have amber LED DRL's or white.. both are unique and makes my LED switchback upgrade look like crap

Is there / Is this a software solution?

When you say accent lights do you mean these? The white LED lights going around the edge of the headlights?

Also since we are on this topic, do the below lights only come on the 5.0's or are they available on the 3.8 Ultimate trim?

Sorry if this is a noob question.

Those LED accent lights shown operate differently depending on year, not model and appear to be the 2015 version. On the 2015's they come on in parking light mode, however they are not as bright as the 2016's, which come on as the DRL lights and are much brighter. The DRL on the 2015's are the amber lights inward of the headlights. They can be set ON if the stalk is set to Parking Light mode, but then will negate AUTO headlight on mode.

The lack of this on the 2015 is a strange and frustrating oversight. It also appears the wiring harness issues liekly preclude an easy fix to gain the brighter and AUTO accessible 2016 LED's.

I leave mine in parking light mode, all the time. I am not lazy enough to not reach up and flip the switch one more position when I need headlights.

BTW - you can shut the car off with the parking light switch on and when you open the door the accent lights (and parking lights) go off. As a result of this - my light switch is only ever in 2 positions: parking or headlights. I never put it to auto or off. works great. I was able to do the same thing with my 2011 Azera that hd LED accents and halos on it too (only year)

If you want them brighter on the 2015 you are going to have to replace the individual LED bulbs.

Oh man...

So what about when the headlights are turned on? Do the white lights around the headlights stay on or do they turn off? And if i'm reading your post right they are not white... they are amber?

Thanks again for clarification.

The LED surrounds come on with the headlights ON. The surrounds are white LED, the amber is the DRL's located outside the headlight assembly on the 2015 model.

Yep - this was changed for the 2016 and leads to some of the confusion surrounding the issue. Either way - leaving the parking lights on all the time (even when car is off) resolves the issue :)

If you like really dim DRL's...

Dim LED"s are the new thing. You have bright ones? That is so old school. Dim ones are the way to go and unfortunately only available on the 2015.

Sorry Nikgen

Hate to be so yesterday - but who would want DRL's in the first place?

My first introduction to DRL's was in Vancouver years ago - I didn't see the purpose then and still don't.

Maybe it's a trendy thing, but if you can't see a 4600 lb car coming (mine), you oughta be off the road.

If you really must have LEDs as your drls then you could also just have your fog lights be wired to ignition so whenever your car is on they are on as well.

My car did not come with fog lights so I did this without an on/off switch and without changing the stalk. Please note that the stock drl bulbs that are normally orange have been switched out with these PIAAs http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002MAIJE/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463796378&sr=sr-1&keywords=piaas

While I didn't mod my stock DRLs like you, I did something similiar for the LED Fogs that I installed like you did. One of the modes I have is for my LED Fogs to act as DRLs in a dimmed mode. Within this mode there are two sub modes where these dimmed LED Fogs will automatically go off when either the stock parking or headlights come on and another where they will automatically shift to full brightness when either the parking or headlights are on and will also automatically shutoff if the high beams are turned on. I also have a auxillary manual override button where the full bightness LED FOGS are on all the time in any stock lighting condition.

However, Va. state inspection regulations do not allow vehicle FOG lights to be used as DRLs and can only be on when your low beams are on so I had to include a special separate switch module which conforms to these requirements for inspection purposes.

I don't agree - I have found that cars with DRL's are easier to see, especially dark cars coming out of dark or cluttered backgrounds. So, I like them and, on a few occasions, they have helped me avoid pulling out in front of cars that I otherwise might have missed.

And, I'll admit - they do look cool too (especially versus the amber incandescents on the 2015's):

That's a drool worthy lens. I pretend with my 50 1.4 on my crop d7000 but nothing compares to an 85 on a full frame.

I guess that's a difference with the 2015 Canadian models - my DRLS are the white LEDS surrounding the headlights themselves. The amber light inboard of the headlight is turn signal / hazard only.

Those DRLs stay lit when the headlights are on, and with the LED fogs (in the bumper) on, make for a very bright front end.
