My 2004 TL made it to 160K. It was a greatThat would be a great drive... Heck, I've been in Houston for 12 years and never driven much further west than San Antonio.
I had a 2006 TL - That was a great car. It had 120k on it and was still going strong... until an old lady pulled out in front of me at an intersection and totaled it!
As for driving west of San Antonio, the Texas landscape changes pretty dramatically not far west of there. It aligns with the stereotypes of Texas: flat (until you hit the Pecos mountains anyway), arid, rural, oil pumps waving to you by the road, wind farms that go on for miles, that's Texas west of San Antonio. If you're into that sorta thing, you should spend a 3 day weekend down in Big Bend National Park: it's the only park in the nation that has its own self-contained mountain range. It will test your hiking acumen for sure (just don't go when it's too hot; it's basically desert.) And the radius of about 100 miles around Big Bend, avoid driving it at night. Lots and lots of suicidal critters (jack rabbits and javelinas by the literal thousands) like to hang out by the road, wait for your car to come, then decide to run in front of you at the last minute (ask me how I know). Sorry for the topic breach; I'll shut up now.
