  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What New Feature(s) Do You Want on Future Genesis Sedans?

I agree about protecting that exposed speaker in the trunk. It is the most unpolished part of the car.

Just a heads up. That big exposed speaker in the trunk is the sub-woofer and it has a huge magnet at its base. If you were to stuff the trunk, and put your laptop bag on top and push it back under this 'exposed' magnet, GOODBYE HARD DISK. Same would hold true for a carry on bag with credit cards, or anything else with a magnetic stripe. Just be careful. ;)

I think the reason Hyundai failed to provide more expensive packages is because it would have drawn far too much negative attention had the price neared too close to $50k...

Built-in, full time bartender with complimentary, daily happy hour. You know, for the commute home.

Ah yes......that would be Luxury Package #9....the Limo option!

I would like to see massage seats and all wheel drive offered on the Genesis.

That makes sense.

In Jan they promised the V8 under 40K. Really, they did come in pretty close. With the $500 voucher and a good dealer you probably could stay under 40K.

A trunk Monkey...I want the ultimate protection if i got a Genesis. And also the feature that tells when you start drifting onto another lane, when you fall asleep. :D

HOW COULD YOU NOT WANT A CONVERTIBLE? :D

The trunk monkey is indeed a great idea.. I've never cared much for monkeys until now...

I actually think it looks good enough to sell.. It's not for everyone - but I bet someone will have Coach Builders do one up. :p

No. Just No. I know convertibles are hot in US, Genesis just won't work as a drop top. Well, to me at least. Nice chop though. Unless it's something like Rolls Royce or bently, who have a LOT of experience under their belt, Hyundai or Kia who virtually have little to NO experience on the convertibles just won't make it work.

I would love to see a hardtop convertible version of the Genesis Coupe.

The Genesis sedan.....eh, not so much. ;)

Importing or exporting info from your car via a wireless connection or USB connection opens up a whole list of possibilities
1) Diagnostic status report (similar to GM/Onstar)
2) Back-up of preferences & address book (BaywayRic's suggestion)
3) List of preferred destinations
4) Performance statistics: MPG, avg speed, run-time.
Another cool feature would be from your computer to be able to send directions to your car instead of to your phone.

directions to your car instead of to your phone.

I'll bet that this would be possible by using bluetooth where information on the phone can be picked up by the car...

The GPS system calculates speed [very accurately] and keeps time to hundredths of a second.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a digital speed readout on the main display to check the analog gage against? After all, they thought it was a good idea to display lat/long.

And you would think the display could show the GPS time. If they were really cool about it, the GPS could automatically update the dash clock.:)

Here are the only features missing that I would like to have:

1. Blind spot monitoring system.
2. Manual rear door window shades.
3. Option to have factory installed DVD player for rear seats.
4. Fold down rear seats.
5. Ability to transfer phone book from cell phone to car.
6. Touch screen GPS - with bird's eye view perspective.
7. Direct injection.

I have 3 year old twins - thus the reason for 2 and 3.

My Lexus RX330 has this feature. The digital clock is set and maintained via GPS.

Dreaming up a wish list makes no sense unless they're prioritized. The real question is what is the first feature you want to see in a future Genesis? In my opinion, the number one feature that would made it valuable to Hyundai to add to the Genesis? is an ALL WHEEL DRIVE version. I read through the threads twice and nobody list it. RWD only is only thing holding me back from having one in my garage right now. I've driven RWD's in midwest winters but thankfully they weren't my primary vehicle. I hope the entire "Genesis clan" helps reinforce the value in offering a AWD Genesis ASAP!!

Maybe once we get enough opinions here - and feel we've covered all bases - we'll setup a new discussion to prioritize our ideas. :)

While I agree that adding AWD would flesh out the Genesis line and make it more broadly appealing, I would encourage you to not dismiss owning a RWD car unilaterally. I live in an area with significant snowfall each year, and I've been driving RWD BMWs exlusively for nearly ten years.

As long as you have good winter tires, a good ESC chip and some experience/common sense, you'll be fine driving RWD in snow. One thing I hope I DON'T miss with the Genesis is a manual transmission, which can also be useful in slippery conditions (slipping the clutch, starting out in 2nd gear, etc.).

For my money, I've preferred driving a RWD car over my wife's FWD & AWD vehicles, as long as I've got the right rubber on 'em.

* Blu-ray player

Personally with a sound system of this caliber I dont see why they did not opt for a Blu-ray player instead of DVD
