What things don't you like in the G70?

There was a piece of ice on the bottom and slightly behind the sensor causing it to go off I purchased a outdoor winter car cover and should solve my problems. I also used to kind of feel the same until I found my sweet spot for my seating and also driving other vehicles made me realise how nice this car is. I would also suggest using CC like @EdP stated it helps alot! Second suggestion is purchase floor mats with a foot pad like mine View attachment 24966

Which mats are those? I thought I saw them a while back but I couldn't remember where to get them. Do you like them?

So I've had my G70 for less than 24 hours, and have noticed a couple things I wish were different. Not truly complaints, but just little things that I have in my Audi and wish were the same on the G70. First, the homelink button on my rearview mirror only works when the car is on (with the engine actually running, not just on accessory power). Just a minor annoyance, but something I got used to in my Audi. Second, actually having to press the button on the door to lock/unlock. Again, on the Audi you just have to touch the button with your finger, not actually depress it. Now that I actually write this down, it seems silly to complain over such a little thing...ahh, first world problems...

Security. If the button worked all the time it would be like leaving the garage opener on the door handle to make it easier to break in.
There was a story posted here a long time back where there was a similar situation. Thieves found a garage door opener in his daughter's car parked outside, got into the house, found his key fob for the Genesis, stole it out of the garage and used it in a robbery.

However, breaking into the car to get the garage door opener and getting into the house is like breaking into the house and then opening the garage taking the keys and getting in the Genesis. No difference, the crime is the crime. A lot of people still use classic garage door openers clipped on their mirror i'm sure.

Yes, and the people at Genesis help save those from themselves. People still leave pocketbooks, laptops and phones visible too. Some crimes are easily prevented.

I guess I'm not seeing the security issue. If someone has broken into my car, then he/she is already in my house since my car is in the garage. Unless I'm misunderstanding...

That's you. If you go down my street most have at least one car sitting out. I bet some have door openers on the visor too.

The systems of Audi and Genesis are obviously different. When washing your Audi with the Audi key in your pocket the car will continually lock and unlock the doors because the signal travels through the water. The Genesis won't do that.

Sorry if I'm just not understanding properly but why would one get into the car when the car is in the garage to open the garage door without leaving? Or perhaps you're trying to open your garage for whatever reason after you've already parked infront of the garage?

That's never happened to me when washing my Audi. When washing by hand I have one of those washing gloves on, and that never triggers the sensor on the door.

Ah yes I see what you mean. I understand 100% as I would clean my car once a week but I don't have a garage, I was also nit picking little things I get it
Have you tried anything with the APP? Maybe it can connect and open the garage or help with this?

My Ford and previous BMW did it.

I've noticed the garage thing as well. It's slightly annoying. When I park in my garage, I just have to remember to hit the button before turning my car off, and when I leave I turn my car on first and then hit the button. This isn't a problem in my other vehicle. It works no matter what. I couldn't care less about security. My home has an alarm system and I park in the garage. If someone is going to break in, they're going to break in lol.

Oh, good point. I forgot about this and will have to remember to follow this procedure as well. I knew I hit that button with the Audi off enough times that I found it a bit annoying in the G70.

Interesting - my salesperson actually mentioned this feature to me on my first test drive. I think it's an outstanding feature. All homelink systems should only work when your is running or at worst, if you have your keyfob on you and you're in the vehicle.

I beg to differ, but it's definitely not a deal breaker for me. Just have to remember an extra step. I much prefer homelink in my vehicle that works even when the car is off.

I'm not a fan of the homelink requiring the car to be running (although I get the potential home security benefit for those that park outside and leave the car unlocked).
After driving a BMW for years, I'm in the habit of hitting the button, starting the car and backing out of the garage. The other day I damn near backed out with the door closed, because I followed that sequence out of habit and was distracted enough to not notice that the door was still closed!
I need to re-train.

If we had the option to choose (car on only or anytime) that would be ideal as it seems people are 50/50 on this. Me personally thinks it should work anytime. The locked car is your security measure for those where this is a concern.
