  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

We bought a 2015 Genesis. It's white, and my wife is considering having the wheels powder coated black. I'm not that's going to look good on a white car and wondering if chrome wheels would end up looking better.

My search for pictures provided limited results. Anyone have photos of either combination (white / black or white / chrome)?

chrome or machined.

Black on white is a dime a dozen nowadays. Personally it depends on the style of wheel whether or not chrome will look good or not. Bronze/gold or gun metal always look good on a white car.

As implied in the original post, it would be the original wheels. The shop blasts the wheels with walnut shells to remove the original coating, then either power coats or chromes the wheels.

Plasti dip them black first to see if you like the look. If you do then have them powder coated black. If you don't like the black then your choice is simple and you're only out 10$ and an hour or two of your time.

ewww i do not like chrome!!

I plastidipped my wheels Anthracite Grey...

I removed the over spray from the tires. Will take new pics.

A vote for black here. I think it'll look good on a white 2015. I'm thinking along the lines of white Mercs or Audis that have black rims. Looks really sporty, imo.
