Okay. Back to the cooled seat ordeal.. Let's somehow try and figure out how much more it could cost to make a seat cooled.. Obviously, there's only one cooled seat in the Hyundai Genesis - the driver's seat. I really NEED to KNOW why Hyundai did this..
Let's say it would have costed an extra $100.00 per vehicle to have the passenger seat cooled as well.. Couldn't Hyundai have raised the price $100.00? Or made it at least an option where if you wanted two front cooled seats - you could pay that extra hundred bucks?
Or does it costs THOUSANDS of dollars for a cooled seat? Please.. Somebody explain this to me.. I just don't understand...
I can sense your sarcasm and I don't blame you.It shouldn't be very hard to figure out. Passenger cooled seats are available on the Korean model.
Somewhere in Korea, tucked in a drawer there are detailed instructions detailing how to cool the passenger seat. I think this would be a great place to start!
It's available in the Korean version so it's very confusing as to why they left it out. I couldn't have costed very much to have it in the American version and would have been a nominal extra charge to cover costs..I guess the passenger is in the hot seat.
Maybe it was just a cost issue, heck they threw the kitchen sink in but not this? Allowing for dual AC seats would have been simple to achieve in the design process.
I asked about the passenger cooled seat at the Discover Genesis Tour event in Minneapolis.
The reason they gave (not the event operators - but the one person they had there that was actually from Hyundai) was that they had some problems making the cooled seat work with the technology that turns on the air-bag when a certain weight is sitting in the front seat. They claimed that the decision was not based on cost.
