  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wing Cap for 18" V8 Wheels?

Anyone buy these yet?

KAI has come thru with a perfect replacement for the stock V8 18" caps, but the price seems steep. I plan to check with Hyundai parts and see what stock caps cost. Maybe they are costly as well, so then the $249 might be in line. Still I would love to see them more along the price of the 3.8 18" caps. Since they say they are limited I wonder if anyone has ordered them yet?

List on the V8 caps (52960-3M250) is $144.24 for a set.
18" V6 caps (52960-3M150) is same.
17" caps (52960-2L320) is $79.80/set.

Are these "stock" Hyundai Genesis V-8 caps, or something that's been modified? Available through my dealer?

Thanks.

Has anyone received their V8 caps yet? Perfect replacement? Do they hold up to the weather? Warranty? I might get these...

KAI is still showing $249 for the caps. How do you get the $144 price?

$249 is for the after market "wing" caps, $144 to $176 is pricing for stock "H" caps.

korean Auto Parts sells them (full cap) for $249. Just got them they look great and I have not seen anyelse with them

Agreed - I've had these since Feb and they've help up extremely well. Pricey but small potatoes when you think about what we spent for this car.

They look great, will have to see long term. But they are the standard V8 18" caps, just with the the 17" wing emblem on them; so see no reason they should do any worse than the 17" or V6 18" caps with wings. Only the larger wings on the V6 18" caps look a little better, but these fit the wheels perfectly. Will report if any problems surface.
Now if someone would sell the right size emblems by themselves, that would be an economical do-it-yourself solution; and no doubt very populare.

Local dealer here in South Florida has the pricey jobs on his 4.6 demonstrator. He had commented that the car was hand-washed weekly. I noticed that one of the caps appeared to have suffered some form of corrosion, that sure looked like water damage...like the clearcoat on the charcoal gray area had been lifted.

Are these a genuine Hyundai part, or are they actually aftermarket?

I agree with the previous posts...there is no comparison in appearance. If you have the V8 wheels, you've got to use these or leave it stock. The caps for the "6" clearly don't make it on these wheels.
