  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Zag.com and 2012 Genesis V6

the dealer I've been to honored the Zag pricing. I didn't buy it at the end cuz I had some issue with my bank (now corrected)

They weren't happy, but they don't have a choice do they ?

Thanks for all the help!

I switched dealers and it made a world of difference. They offered me 150% more for my trade-in and accepted my certificate without issue and gave me additional rebates that the other dealer didn't even attempt to do.

I am now an owner of a 2012 Genesis 3.8 V6 w/ premium package and platinum metallic silver exterior!

LOL - drive back to dealer 1, and show him your new ride. Then tell him you'll only service it at the other place. Salesman won't care... but the manager sure will!

I'm evil.

Congrats! Enjoy the ride.

Go to the zag.com website and look for contact info. Then either call or e-mail or both stating the dealers name location and person specifically refused to honor their zag contract. Then if the greedy dealer does not comply with their own contract they would be quickly removed from the zag.com affiliation.

Below is a quote from the CEO of zag.com Scott Painter:
"Customers using the Zag program recieve a guaranteed upfront price on vehicles. So by the time they get to the dealership, they have already been given a price for the car as they have configured it. Every dealer registered in the program provides Zag with a pricing sheet for all vehicles available for purchase. All dealers have a contractual obligation to meet or beat the price they have listed. It is non-negotiable."

FYI - Those prices only apply to vehicles on the ground. If that dealer does not have the car you've configured on his lot, he is not obligated to honor the price.

Congrats on your new ride.

congrats drgoll, I used the zag.com price to move my dealer to a better starting point in negotiations. They too had a dealer pack of badges, nitrogen, tint, etc that we whittled down to what I would accept, but they wanted to start at MSRP !! So I pulled the zag price out to start, then took rebates off..

Best to plan on spending some time to get what you want. Most people make the mistake of wanting to be done in 30 minutes or less....heck, negotiating is more fun than a root canal!
