  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis Sedan - V6 AWD 60-90 MPH

Yes, not bad considering the weight in the vehicle... I'm really getting anxious about this car. I'm just on the fence about whether or not to go with the V8...

Yeah not bad at all. Three big guys in the car, 1/2 tank of gas. The V8 is nice but most will never need all that power. There are more aftermarket performance parts for the 3.8 too.

Thanks for that video. Did you have the window down when you made that? Sounds nice but if the windows were up that is pretty loud in the cabin. Did you happen to check out all the interior color options available? Does any of them have the Saddle option? Darker tan color? Any talk about a Performance version (RSPEC) coming down the pike any time soon? Does these cars have the Flying H anywhere on them?

Thanks again sabbasaun for all your posts on the new 2015 Genesis.

Window was not down but I was holding phone with the mic nearest the side window so it may appear to pick up more than you'll hear. For me it didn't sound overly loud. I tried to get specifics on a performance or RSpec version but no one would give me any real details. The most I got out of it was a smile and "It's been talked about. We'll see." If they do I expect to hear something perhaps in the summer or near when SEMA comes around.

The previous generation Genesis has, what most would describe as, a serious lag with the transmission. For example, mash down on the accelerator and about 1 -2 seconds later, the car completes a downshift then accelerates.

This transmission different?

They really worked on throttle response and to me the shifting was pretty fast (just depends on the drive mode too). In manual mode the upshifts and downshifts were pretty quick. You can see that in the video when I downshift from 4th to 3rd how quick the tranny responds..

sabbasaun- Are you thinking Rspec or Rspec with Htrac?

I've heard all of the above and even a turbo'd V6 variant. We'll just have to wait and see. The all new Sonata launch will be later this year and if I get to go I may try to get more info.

Very cool. Thanks. Visited local dealer today and they are clueless about everything.

Yeah they are usually the last to know about this stuff unless they have a person who keeps up on all the products, hitting the forums etc. But Hyundai is doing regional launches now for the car so the dealers should start getting more info.

Just received an email prompt from Hyundai to contact local dealer for quote on '15.

Aren't they thinking about an "N-Line" performance line? N as in the "Namyang" Research and Development Centre in the Republic of Korea.

However, the steering wheel, wheel hubs, and hood will come with wings. The truck swap-out of the flying H is the easiest one to do.

I guess I should order my winged badge, huh? Where do people buy them these days?

All of the reviews I read said that the Genesis is extremely quite inside. One(I forget which) even said it was "eerily quiet".

Every time some one asks about a performance oriented Genesis, Hyundai pretty much responds with this same answer. My guess is they have already green-lighted it and are just waiting to announce it.

AWD 5.0? Wouldn't that be something.

Looking at it another way that zero substance answer they give can also be a stock answer to most questions. If they truly believe the V6 will make up 90% of sales, I am not sure there is room for a real R-Spec, when this 2015 5.0 is essentially an R-spec using the previous requirements. Taking on the luxury market is one thing, to the go after the high performance sport market would likely mean some major changes - no way a different name will do it this time.

Well I wouldn't put it past them to try either. Will they get to BMW 5M territory? Doubt it but they did bring in Lotus and they spent a lot of time at Nürburgring. I hope it was for more than just daily driving chassis tuning. :)
