Very nice indeed! Just read this front to back. I hope to do this soon.
Is the ESC button in the on position or the off position before you remove the fuse & when you start the car ?
yep, its working on '13 as well

- start the car
- pop the hood
- pull the fuse
- wait 10-15 sec. then press ESC button
- wait 10-15 sec. then put the fuse back in
- done, off you go![]()
well, u got the 5.0 and i have the 3.8 me and another guy on this thread has the 3.8 and it didnt work for both of us.
So, I got a kill switch installed and run into the cabin next to my sub-woofer gain knob. Not the cleanest of jobs but you can't see any wires when the door is closed in the cabin.
One thing peculiar I've noticed, at least with the V6, is that mashing the pedal never results in squealing the tires. Even with the ESC OFF or the ESC fuse disabled mashing the gas produces a slight hesitation before you will feel the engine put all of its torque to the tires.
To me, this is definitely a power train preservation system that even pulling the fuse won't remedy (again, at least on the V6). I did notice that with the fuse pulled (or switched off now I guess) that progressively getting on the gas without just mashing it easily allows you to do a burnout.
I'm uncertain as to which method allows for quicker off the line performance but I fully intend to test both. On a side note - my Magnaflow has developed a slight leak at one of the collars that connects the axle-back portion to the rest of the system. That's what I get for not just having my shop weld them together initially. Will be fixing that tonight.
Pinggolf - I agree with all the issues you posted regarding the ESC. It drives me crazy when it shuts me down when I'm pulling out with intentions to jump on it in order to not impede anyone that is behind, or around me. I understand how you override the ESC as per your explanation you posted earlier, but I have a question which I will try out myself.Correct! The ESC is also known as a "nanny." Traction, is a MUST in any situation and when traction is lost, the NANNY steps in to say..."Hey, wait a minute....if you dont know how to drive with little or no traction...I will MAKE YOU HAVE TRACTION!" Some cars ESC is more disabling than others and by far, the Genesis is the worst I have seen yet. The Genesis is totally diabled when the nanny kicks in which can be even more deadly than not having it at all.
Spinning your wheels in not always a bad thing when you know how to handle it but an over compensated ESC system will ruin any hopes of a quick getaway.
I dont mind the ESC...especially in wet/snowy conditions because it actually helps...but here in the south, I have no use for it!
When ESC is truly off, via the mod below, YOU take full ownership of the throttle. If you want to chirp...chirp away, if you want to ball the tires...smoke em, if you want to drift a corner, drift away!
Just remember that you are on your own and if you over do it, especially in a corner, the Nanny will not step in and say "settle down son" but the DITCH will let you know!

So I did the test and either I'm doing it wrong or the 2009 v8 sucks.... I started my car pulled the fuse then replaced the fuse after pushing the esc button. The esc light was light up on the dash but nothing else stayed lit up.
I tried mashing the gas on some dry slick concrete and I didn't even get a chirp.![]()
