  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Turning ESC off ...for real...With Video Proof!!

I may have found a way to turn ESC OFF completely WITHOUT loosing GPS, speedometer, etc... I say that because today I did it.:p

The only thing I noticed was the cruise control did not work anymore and I could NOT put the ESC back on. (It always stays OFF) I had to shut the car down and restart it for it to become normal again.

I'm not going to write how I did it unless one of the mods tells me it's ok.
I did doughnuts today for the 1st time.

This V8 is scary!!!

PINGGOLF, write to me please.

The rear end might be weak, they might have failed in testing due to shock loading. The cheapest solution may have been to control the torque to the rear end, this has been a common problem on high performance cars for years, the manufacturer does not want to spend the money to make them bulletproof.

for the retards (at least this one) out here that want to install this mod, would someone post a step-by-step with pics? :p

I agree - can someone please post a step-by-step (with photos) on how to install this mod?

So I decided to try this mod out and it works and intended. Lots of smoke:)

Anyway - With the ESC (ESP) fuse left in but the ESC bottom pressed off my Genesis lays down 2 strips on the pavement with it's LSD rear differential. Problem is with the ESC mod "activated" I only get the one wheeled wonder:(

OneFun, you mentioned that the Genesis' sedans that have the LSD differential are electronic diffs. I'm thinking maybe the mod disables the LSD diff, which completely takes the fun out of the mod and any hopes of actual performance. I will have to research my differential more in order to figure things out............................

MikeC any idea?

I have a 2011 4.6 sedan. I tried the fuse pull replace, but I had 3 lights after I put the fuse back in. One was auto hold. next was esc. and the last was epb. Can anyone give me an insight as to why the auto hold and EPB are still on. The car will go forward and reverse and it don't feel like the brakes are on. Can any one else give me any ideas. I think one other member had the same problem but no one replied to his post. Thanks in advance for any help.

I read through the 9 pages and I'm surprised this hasn't come up before.

Does this actually improve 0-60 acceleration? or is this mostly for fun?

either way will keep it in mind if stuck in snow...

any updates on a how to ?

any updates on a how to ?

haven't done it a single time but I can say that summer tires make a lot of difference.

I'm using Continental DW for summer and DWS for everything else.

I have everything to do a wireless switch install but I am having a devil of a time figuring out the wiring as the one poster said it only switches the ground. Did he ever post any actual information and step by steps for the wiring and what relay he used? The wiring in the pic is somewhat easy to understand but I am not touching ANYTHING until I am sure.

I too am waiting on a remote step-by-step. I will do this mod immediately when I get the info!

Sadly I think this is probably passed and someone else will have to take up the torch. Looks like people have been asking for some time and it never happened. Too bad for sure. It is a fix I would love to do but since it is a bit unusual(with the comments about grounding and using a relay) its best to have VERY detailed steps.

ok. im going to start off saying i got a 2013 genny 3.8 and i went into the fuse box and took out that 10a fuse and i go in the cab and the esc light and abs light is on already and i didnt touch anything yet. i wait for a few moments 7 seconds and push esc off and nothing happens. i put the fuse back in and all the lights that came on turned off. it didnt work for me. lemme get this right. you start the car, take the fuse out, wait a moment, push the esc button, then put the fuse back on. right?

I'm revisiting this too. I have tried the start, pull fuse, wait, press esc, replace fuse on my 2012 GDI and nothing either. Procedure must be different for the post 2011 cars - at least the V6s

sad to report that the traction control and the 8 speed tranny drove me to get an American V8...doing burn outs is no longer an issue and I can pass people with 2,000rpm on the odo. It's been fun Hyundai...

who am I kidding, even my wife said the new car drives better. I'm still one of Hyundai's biggest fans even if I don't drive one anymore, will keep a close eye on their future vehicles.

SS I assume? Those things are nearing supercar fast. I like certain GM vehicles. Almost got a Regal GS instead this Genesis but couldn't do it knowing it was a fwd sports sedan.

It must have straight through exhaust because it sounds like a hairy monster! There are definitely not any nannies slowing it down. I love the sound but it would drive me nuts on anything but the track for short periods.

I think I'm just going to run a toggle switch on this fuse since just pulling it appears to disable esc. I see the esc, abs and brake light when pulled.
