  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

price paid for extended warranty

And since it's not a fixed price, the faster you get to 100k miles, the cheaper it is.

It has a $250 deductible per claim. Is good for 100k miles. You have to be the original owner and I think, under 12,000 miles and 12 months.

Covers EVERYTHING that is factory installed, with the exception of wear and tear claims.

If I'm not mistaken, GEICO is the only company that offers this.

Thanks for the info Phil. I sent an email to my agent, and am awaiting a response. I'm at 39,000 miles though, so I dought I would quality if my insurance evens offers this.

Anyone get the stretched seats repaired under the PT warranty. Seems like somewhere in this thread I read that upholstry was excluded. Thinking of buying one with an already stretched seat and I'm not convinced that Hyundai even know how to fix it --and some report that dealer will only do it once under standard warranty.

The upholstery is covered for 1 year from when you first buy the car new. Hyundai is aware of the problem , but chooses to put a patch on it. Other auto brands do not seem to have a problem, at least not to this extent. It has to be a design/material quality issue. I have read that the softer the leather the more prone it is to wrinkle / stretch . But the high end autos do it fine , so its Hyundai related. 7ibigblock.

I live in Florida , Im told extended warranties can not be discounted here. State law says extended warranties are insurance and law says insurance can not be discounted. Has anyone in Florida gotten good deals ( discounted) on extended warranties --- not third policy. Thanks
No one answered yet. I asked this question here because fellow members are very knowledgeable and smart. Can anyone help me on the extended warranty pricing--- not being discounted. Thanks

Im trying to keep this alive, anyone in Florida get a good deal on their "Hyundai " extended warranty . Thanks

I am interested as well. I will pulling the trigger on a 2015 or 2014 Genesis in the next few months and would like to know.

Yes still trying to find an answer. Im surprised, the members here are the most knowledgeable Ive seen. Florida extended warranty pricing, due to Florida law cant be discounted--- this is manufacturer , not third party. Tried all the best internet suppliers ,as suggested , they quote no discount price. Please help . Thanks.

I paid in December 2013 $1800 for a 10 year 100,000 mile 0 deductible platinum Hyundai factory warranty from the dealer. Seems like I may have over paid based on some of the other prices people have indicated they paid.

It seems that the best price for the 10 year, 100,000 mile Platinum warranty will be obtained at the time of vehicle purchase. I was offered $1,400.00 at vehicle delivery, turned it down and later paid $1,600.00.

I believe that it would be advisable not to own a vehicle with as much technology as a Genesis with the tech. package past the original warranty period without an extended warranty. My warranty, as most of them, was transferable as well.

Thank you for the information ,I have asked for extended warranty info. from people who live in Florida ---- because of our different laws. Are you a Florida resident? Thanks

Bought my new 2013 genesis sedan 3.8 with tech package yesterday and got the extended warranty down to $1200 in CA.

The official Hyundai 10 year, 100,000 mile Platinum Extended Warranty (the one that covers the audio/video/nav electronics beyond 3 years) can be purchased from any Hyundai dealer, regardless of where you purchased your car, and regardless of what state you live in. The are several online parts websites run by dealers that you could call and inquire about the extended warranty. There are some other dealers mentioned on this forum who regularly sell it for a good price on the phone.

The dealer cost for a Platinum Extended Warranty is $1,050.00 according to a Hyundai finance guy. Apparently it is the same regardless of Genesis trim level. The best price I recall seen reported on this forum is $1,200.00. Might be a little higher for 2015 models.

Yes it can be purchased at any dealer but most dealers would want the car to be inspected prior to selling the warranty it's called a vehicle inspection which usually cost about $200 to make sure the car is sound then you get the clean bill of health then you can purchase the warranty

Maybe that depends on how many miles/months the car has after purchase. I have never heard of that being required by members of this forum who purchased the warranty from a dealer on the phone other than who sold the car to them, but I can see that if the car is already out of manufacturers warranty, then an inspection would be required. I can't imagine that an inspection would be required within a month of it being brand new.

It's up to the particular dealership a lot of dealership to do that I've been in the car business for 22 years doing Finance for 18 years it's a very common practice would you put a warranty on something without inspecting it if you were the owner of the dealership

Individual dealerships can do what they want. They can charge $3,000 for the Platinum Warranty (which was the first offer from the finance guy when I closed on my Genesis). But since we are talking about an extension of the HMA warranty (not a dealer warranty) I would think that if an inspection was required, that would be determined by HMA and would apply to all dealers who sell the warranty. In any case, I am just relaying the information posted in this forum by others who bought the warranty from out of state dealers on the phone, and for those people there were no inspections required (for recently purchased new vehicles).

Ok you win
I am just relaying information posted by others on this forum about buying a HMA extended warranty from an out of town dealer on the phone. If you have a problem with what they say, search for their posts on this forum and please contact them about it.
