  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

Understood, but I do not have a Hyundai currently so there is no rebate available for me right now. Looks like the June rebates are out and it is the same. $1,000 loyalty and $500 military.

Right now I am somewhat torn on pulling the trigger... $42,700 for a 2015 Genesis vs $38,700 for a 2014 Buick LaCrosse (simliarly configured Tech vs. Premium 2 with sunroof and both driver packages). $4,000 is quite a big difference, mostly from rebates as I qualify for $3,500 in rebates right now from GM.

I was sad they didn't have the competitor rebate too, but I was trading in an Infiniti. It doesn't matter though for you. Those two offers are mutually exclusive. Either you take credit for owning a Hyundai and get that credit or you take credit for trading in a competitor. You can't do both on any car per Hyundaiusa website.

I've never driven a Lacrosse. How would you compare the 2?

My wife has a Buick Enclave that I drive a lot on the weekends. We have received nicely equipped LaCrosses as loaners several times and have driven them 10 to 14 days in total. They are nice cares. The premium 2 with Driver Confidence Packages and sunroof is similar to the Tech and are reasonably close in price.

They are both very nice cars. I have only had a 15 min drive with the Genesis and it is not particluarly easy to compare them. The biggest beef with the LaCrosse is that it has a super high belt line (door comes up really high and the windows are small) and the design is a little dated at this point since it is the 5th year in production. I am super happy with the Buick customer service and I am super happy overall with how my Enclave has performed.

I am nervous about Hyundai customer service and my experience taking the car in for service.

I can concur on the Enclave since I've had it as a rental for a few long stretch of business trips spreading out over the last couple of years. Super nice and comfy SUV is all I had to say about it.
Sometime last year I intentionally had the LaCrosse as a rental for a week in N.O, LA with the sole purpose of getting a feel of how it'd compare with the Hyundai Genesis. Mostly a nice car but I could never got over the way the car handles and feels around the city.
As for Hyundai customer service, it has been a hit and miss. Some dealers are worse than the others so as a customer you have to decide which one is best for your needs and in some instances you may have to drive further to get that kind of service you demand.
I;ve been lucky so far that Hyundai dealers I;ve been going to for car services have been above average but not exactly the same kind of service I was customed to when I owned my Lexus.
Just my 2 cents.

Picked up black ultimate today. Dealer had hard time finding one. Took nearly two weeks - Had to get from out of state dealer about 120 miles away.

MSRP $52,550
Price for car $51550
less $1000 rebate bringing it to $50,550.
Got $21,950 for my 2012 black genesis, tech package, 16,150 miles on it in very good condition (front cowl had small abrasion on corner (hit curb) and front rim had nick taken out of it - otherwise, spotless)

only other fees paid besides state taxes were doc fees which were reasonable ($225).

Normally I would have tried to get more, but given the fact they are hard to find and seemingly high demand right now, it seemed I was about as low as I could get them - of course, the trade always muddies the water.

How did I do?

i think you did really well.
now, how does the engine/exhaust sound to you?
i assume you got the v6.
for a black exterior, is the interior always black too?

Yes, the v6. There are other interior colors that go with the black interior, but I did get the black interior.

I don't recall the exhaust sound one way or the other.

Sounds like a great deal jcox12 What part of the country do you live in?

I'm in Houston. It was a pretty good deal. I'm happy about it. Been missing my 2010 genesis since I gave her up 3 years ago so happy to be back!

5.0 Ultimate...MSRP...55,800

Final price with loyalty cash..51,000

First post here! Just picked up my 2015 Genesis 3.8 with Ultimate package in black on black.

Had a trade-in with about -$3000-4000 equity. I rolled in the TTL for Texas as well. Total OTD financed is $54K flat. Considering the negative equity for my trade, I feel like I got a great deal!

So far, this is a great 1 month late 25th birthday present as I love this car!

Got the 5.0 ultimate with trunk carpet, trunk wings, wheel locks, first aid kit and bumper guard for 51k including the loyalty rebate. Got $19500 for my 2011 Genny 4.6 with 37000 miles on it. I love the car and it was still a bargain. To get close the same features in E class the price is 86k.

Picked her up today! 3.8 ultimate black on black. Glad to be back in the family.

Well Mr. Cox you just out did yourself! It looks AMAZING! Not hard to see why 95% of the forum members buy black. You got a really good deal. Sterling McCall was most accommodating I see. ;-) I'll be watching for you blazing these Houston freeways. Sorry Maxima... hasta la vista baby! LOL

Thanks! Yeah the max doesn't have anything on this machine. You will be blazing soon enough. Let me know if you need anything during your search and negotiations.

Congrats on your new purchase. Time to change your description under your name. Guess you are too busy playing with your new set of wheels, so you are excused.

Guess I should know (but I don't:confused:), but what is the Gap charge of $800?

Thanks

It's insurance to cover you in the instance of total loss to cover the "gap" between what the car is worth and how much you owe.
