  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What have you Raced?

Yes, mine does this too and it is annoying as hell. Almost as if the transmission is just "catching up".

Sometimes all the safety features (ESC,TSC etc.) are your enemy. Get stickier tires and get the transmission learning codes reset. Turn off the traction control if you dare! (Darth Vader voice) You will learn very quickly that the R Spec has a dark side and 2 very dark lines in the road will appear as you spin like a Ferris wheel.....LOL

Hot Off the Press..........First a new BMW X6 M series 555hp twin turbo its heavy pig but fast....(the crowd pauses).......He took off in front of me unexpectedly I punched it and held my ground. When I began to close in slowly he lets out to prevent his female passenger from seeing the Hyundai passing the BMW.
Second.....I was cruising about 70 on the interstate and a cocky dude in a E46 M3 decides I'm tired of riding behind this Hyundai. He switches lanes and digs hard like I'm supposed to be impressed. I just waited until he got to my rear quarter punched it and pulled away. He actually stayed in it but still got smashed. We came to a light later and he wouldn't even look over. I guess his butt hurts...LOL

It must be M series month on the menu.

If your so worried about the death of a innocent could I suggest that you stay off the road all together, your much more likely to hit someone while driving down a road in normal driving conditions then during a quick blast of speed.

Yesterday I had a kid in a Mid-90's Mustang GT try to pass on the right, I really do not understand what he thought he was doing as we were driving down a narrow 2 lane

I take it you mean on passing you on the left? Otherwise he's passing on the shoulder? Unless you are in Britain or Japan....

I look over and see him coming on fast, about the time he was even with my rear bumper I hit the gas, he never made it past the front door before I started to pull away.

If somebody blocked me *while* I'm passing, I'd have been more than a little pissed, just on general principles. I'd have let him pass, and then maybe looked for a safer oppourtunity to pass him back, or otherwise show him my taillights.

Yeah, OK. 90 in a 35 is not dangerous. Dipshit.

I have done my share of stoplight races. And boogie along with another car in a 4 lane section of highway. But I agree that you should have let him pass. If he is passing on the shoulder he is obviously an idiot willing to take stupid chances. And that easily could have ended up badly for both of you and anybody else on the road.
I make a conscious choice to never engage in any type of race if there are other cars around. It's one thing to endanger my own life and even the life of the person I'm racing. We both know the consequences. But any other cars or pedestrians don't deserve to be put at risk because I want to stroke my ego.
This isn't an attack. I've done stupid shit many of times. I am just as guilty as the next guy. Just saying that we all need to remember to put a little more thought into things sometimes.

Objects in mirror are ...fading :D

Hey... Not "stupid SHFT". Let's call it being a real man.. Eccentric, a little risky, but not stupid SHFT. [emoji41] we get too apologetic from the brow beating the geldings and nesters attempt to press on us.. Long live the liberty filled, a bit wild men... They got us to the moon with slide rules and pencils. You KNOW the pilots, engineers, and astronauts drove like wild beasts back then.

Let's get us back in the wild man business. The world is better for it.
So, next time, do it again. Loved the story.

Love it.... Pencil head pricks deserve all their whipping they should get on their gelding bumpuses.

I get what you are saying.
But I disagree. I don't call it being a "Real man". A "Real man" doesn't put innocents at risk.
I can tell ya. If someone ever hurt one of my kids while street racing he/she better hope he/she does in the accident.
That being said. A little fun is fine. Just keep the risk to yourself and the person you are racing. Not the people and children driving along the road minding their business.

MK19 has it down. Let's run off the gelding hoards of busy bodies. Oh, and I get the MK19 reference. Nothing like a fully automatic 40mm grenade launching rifle like device. Every man should own one or two.

Go away whiny bumpus worry wart. [emoji40]

Bah, you're just sad you got the V6. Don't take it out on us.

Agreed. And 90 in a 35 is just the top of the morning run for some men. A gelding free zone. [emoji106]

Another example.
A Real Man fights a fight one on one and fist to fist.
A Real Man doesn't go around getting in a fight and punching any woman and child that happens to be standing in the same area.

Violins playing. Not you are digging in your heals. No kids on trikes, no Johnny running into the street.. Your faux image of the Mustang dusting sounds like some NSA excuse maker saying why they need to monitor your every move.
