My bad, $800 in free tires or you can keep your high performance tires and car CPU stock. No one is twisting arms to "downgrade" your tires and CPU.
The premise of the replacement is to improve ride quality, whether you buy into that or not is up to you, you have a choice. What other car company says you can have free tires in the next three years?
I don't see anyone else offering that, ever. Maybe that late 90's Ford Explorer...
The point is that Hyundai made much fuss about the improvements to ride and handling with the Gen 2. They spent significant time and resources testing, tuning and ultimately outfitting it with specific Ultra Performance AS tires. Now, suddenly because of a "small number of complaints", they toss all of that out the window and throw on Grand Touring AS tires with a lower speed rating requiring them to reflash the ECU to limit top speed? Are they saying there was something wrong with the Hankooks or some of the Hankooks - or are they saying that all high performance AS tires have the "issue" and only touring tires will provide a satisfactory ride? My Hankooks are fine so I have no intent of changing...
