Motorweek tested 7.2 seconds for 0-60.
0-60 times are not consistent for these tests.

Depends on what you mean by good performance. 5 seconds to 60 in the V8, 6.5 or longer in the V6. Big difference.
Unless your ego is defined by racing someone from a stop light, the difference between 5 or 6 seconds from 0-60 is absolutely irrelevant.
Actual performance depends on the tires, outside temperature and humidity, road surface, equipment level (for weight), etc. Plus, what settings you choose on ESC, what transmission settings, fuel quality, etc.
So, unless you test a 5.0 and a 3.8 with the same tires, same type of fuel on the same time at the same track, all the rest of this discussion is pure cow manure ...
So, according to the quoted sources, for my car, I'm looking at:
2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Sedan Compare Car 0-60 mph 5.4 | Quarter mile 13.8.
So, from my perspective, 5 seconds vs. 5.4 seconds. Not such a big difference.
I don't know about your 2012 Genesis but this is the 2015 Genesis forum.
The comparison is still valid. Even if you 2G types don't like to hear it.
What comparison did we not want to hear? Must of missed something...
Why would you say its "irrelevant"? I don't think its irrelevant when merging onto crowded highways or speeding up to an empty spot to change lanes.
Yeah, that's just about the worst rationalization I've read for owning a V8 over a V6.
If you're having problems merging with traffic in a V6 then I respectfully suggest engine size may not be your central issue lol.
There are plenty of awesome reasons to own a V8, snagging an empty spot in traffic .4 seconds quicker isn't one of them.
Sorry, I didn't see where you live - "The Great White North".
I agree, when a car passes every 5 minutes or so acceleration isn't all that important when merging or changing lanes.

Oh and here's a picture of the 2nd most congested city in North America - Vancouver Canada...but please don't let me interrupt your wonderful interpretation of the world to the north of you. Bahahahah!

I would strongly disagree with that. The V6 loves to rev, true. But it's not like you have to to floor it all the time to get good performance out of it.
