If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

1. So adjust your steering wheel if you need to see them...btw, you can set them to do 3, 5 or 7 blinks and auto turn off!
2. Really? What car does and why are you frequently adjusting your vents (and at night)? I set them once and have never touched them again.
3. No idea what your are talking about? Are you concerned about reversing too fast? Why? Is it that hard to manage the gas pedal in reverse?

BTW - You get the award for the lamest dislikes I've yet seen! :D

1. For my height there are actually pretty few angles/adjustments I can make to the steering wheel which allow me to see the indicators - so I adjust the wheel to the car vs it to me.
2. The vent system (like most new cars) always runs air to the defrost and vents even in "floor mode" I sometimes don't want air blowing on me or out the vents - its minor but I've seen and would like them illuminated.
3. In reverse the car does seem / has something limiting the speed - it certainly is restricted by something. If no one here has complained or commented I guess its of to the dealer for an answer?

Thanks for the award!

Re vents. The Genesis is rather smart in heat mode. It directs air to the feet only until temperature is achieved and then splits it between the vents and floor to maintain it. I noticed this as of late when I put the climate control screen up which shows where the air is being directed. Mine does not send any through the vents if I select floor in manual mode or if it is in auto mode and has not heated up the cabin yet. Defrost is another system and is selected via detectors if required.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

1. Turn indicators (in bezel) are often hidden by steering wheel angle/adjustment. No auto off or chime.
2. Lack of illuminated vent controls.
3. Reverse speed limiter

1. Are you tall/short? Given the driver seats range of adjustments and telescopic steering wheel, there has to be a way to see the blinker signals. Did you not notice this on your test drive?
2. I've never known this to be an issue. Auto climate works well and should alleviate needing to adjust your vents.
3. How fast are you trying to drive in reverse??

New 3.8 AWD Ultimate owner here! Coming from a '13 Accord EX-L

I've had the car for 2 days and there's a couple things that I don't like so far.

1- Having to push the button on the door to unlock it. My Accord had a sensor on the door handle that would unlock it.

2- When listening to something on my phone via bluetooth, then I get out of the car and get back in, the infotainment system switches it to FM radio.

Is there a setting for that that I'm missing? It's really annoying having to push the button to get to the bluetooth audio every time.

Besides those two things, the car is amazing!

The Bluelink and Genesis apps for iOS on Wi-Fi only tablets appear not to work. Just for fun, i did a lock/unlock from my tablet at home and nothing happened, although it said SUCCESSFUL and there was an email, nothing happened. The phone works. I suspect that you need a cell phone carrier connection for the apps to do stuff like remote start, lock/unlock etc. Both devices were ostensibly sending and receiving data on Wi-Fi.

About those bears, you are going to get eaten. ;) It takes about 10-15 seconds for the unlock command to execute.

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

Not specific to the Genesis but with modern cars that have like 100 air bags. The A pillars are really fat and create a huge blind spot. I drove a MR2 Turbo for 10 years and never had this problem until I bought my 2.0T Sonata. Pedestrians liked to hide there... with the Genesis, the pillar hid a whole Ford Escape at a 4 way stop!

I am a new owner and member of this forum, but I find it surprising how few comments in this particular category discuss the actual driving experience. Is this because everyone like the driving experience and is only disappointed in the technical details of the car? I am genuinely interested in your feedback. Thank you.

This is the "Dislikes" thread, the "Likes"one below.

Has anybody figured out some way to avoid having open the driver’s door to shut the screen off when the vehicle is shut off and you stay in the car. It’s a minor annoyance but I know if there is a way one of us would have found it by now.

Have you tried pushing the start button once or twice with your foot off the brake?

I think I remember it first goes to “ACC” mode then on the second press it goes to “On” mode and on the third press I’m back where I started with the screen on and having to open the door to shut it off. Of course without having my foot on the brake at any time. Has that procedure worked different for you?

Maybe I am reading your post wrong but if your looking to turn off the display after you shut off the car and without opening the door, simply press the "Display" button on the dash.

No, I have not tried killing the power off without opening the door. I know you can cycle through like you mentioned, just wasn't sure if Off was part of the cycle when you turn the engine off.

Yes but I think when you turn the car back on the display is still off and the button needs to be pressed again to turn it on. I know, I know it’s a silly thing. Just sayin.

I think your resolution is when you park to leave the gear on D, to push the start/stop button, and after car get engine off, to move the gear to P

Re: 2015 Genesis "Dislikes"

I just got a 2015 5.0 new. as of now I have about 500 miles on it, and I'm starting to notice a lot of squeaks and creaks. One seems to be coming from where the driver side window touches the top of the door frame, and the other somewhere in the back, maybe somewhere in the back window. It happens mainly when I am turning and / or going over bumps. It is really starting to scare me if this car is already creaking at 500 miles. Also, the passenger side seat belt buckle slams against the pillar when I turn. Seems so ridiculous.ideas?

The driver's side window issue was mentioned somewhere here today. The door seal is the culprit I believe.

The seatbelt is a well known issue. I simply fasten it when I'm driving since I mostly drive alone but that's not necessarily a fix.

Take it back to the dealer.
