Price Paid For 2015 Genesis

there is a 2016 ultimate for sale in my area with about 6k miles. its at $43k as of todays listing on their site. although its not the color i'm going for it checks the other boxes and the carfax is clean, given the miles on it from carfax reporting it seems to have been a loaner or demo. what is a reasonable number number i can negotiate for purchase?

Thanks!
Where do you see the sweet spot in leasing today?
All I care about is having the Tech package, not really concerned with V8, AWD, etc.

Just picked up a 2015 Empire State Gray 5.0. The dealers are closing them out with Hyundai Employee pricing. Sticker was 52K, got it for 38K. 109 test drive miles on the ODO.

Where did you buy it? 38k OTD or not?

Just purchased my second Genesis (first was in April of 2012) earlier this week (May 30) in Oklahoma City.

It is a 2015 Caspian Black/Beige 3.8 V6 RWD with Tech package with 5500 miles (demo) and no trade in. Sticker price was $48,239 ($1599 of which was a BS dealer profit group "Pro pack" with wheel locks, tint and 'protectant'). After striking that package from the negotiation discussions, the price breakout was as follows:

Retail price: $46,630
Preferred customer discount: -$8764
Rebate: -$6500
Doc fee: +$499
Lien fee: + $10

Total price: $31,875 + tax

It took about 4 hours of test driving and discussing to get to that deal (I drove 3 Genny sedans).

Sales mgr said on Monday that his best guess was that after May 31, the deals wouldn't be as sweet, which seems to be consistent with what I have read in this thread.

Thanks to all who have posted their negotiated prices on here. It saved me thousands, just as it did before on Genesis #1 in 2012.

This right there made me walk away from two Hyundai dealers. I have never seen this tactic (selling useless sh*t at a 1,000% markup) used at any reputable dealer, and I will not do business with dealers that think I am a fool.

The car I purchased had a sticker on it with this same cr*p (Nitrogen filled tires, some sort of sealer nonsense, pin-striping, etc.) that was added to the car. It was shipped from another dealership (from Houston to Austin), and was never even mentioned during the sales process. If they had asked me to pay even 10c for this junk, I would have walked out the door.

No Audi, BMW, MB, Porsche or Lexus dealer I have been to has ever had a sign on a car with these "dealer add-ons" or mentioned them ever in negations. These things are always a rip-off, are totally unnecessary (else the manufacturer would have added them from the factory) and never worth anywhere near the added price. Dealer add-ons on a car are a pretty clear sign that they want to make a few extra $$$ off of inexperienced buyers, and I will avoid those dealers like the plague.

If I see a dealership with a rare car that has a "dealer mark-up" sign on it, they are forever purged from my shopping list. A local Pontiac dealership back in the mid 2000's was offering the then brand new Pontiac Solstice (MSRP about $25,000) with a 15-20%% dealer markup. I had gotten on a wait list, and was told I could buy my way up the list by paying a higher markup - no vehicle was on the lot (they even sold their demo cars for several $1,000 over MSRP) and you couldn't take a test drive - they wanted a down payment on a car unseen and without the ability to test drive one before buying it. I declined.

A few months later - once the people who "needed" to own a Soltstice the day it was released had all paid their above sticker price - I got a call from the dealership that they had cars on the lot and would like to invite me to a test drive. I told them I'd rather drive a rusted through Triumph Spitfire with no working top, that was running on only 3 cylinders, than ever step foot onto their lot again. They could have sold me a car at MSRP, but once they decided that their short-term greed far exceeded their interest in creating satisfied customers I was done with them.

Reputable dealers will not try this tactic on their customers. I'm glad you got that junk removed from the price and now get to enjoy your new car!

Every car I've ever bought has had dealer added junk. I really don't care, it's a "bonus" for me. I don't negotiate off the sticker, I do research and determine how much I'm paying for the car. They can take my offer or leave it. If they're going to sell some other sucker on their junk then good for them. It just won't be me.

Thanks to this forum I ended up with a new instead of a CPO 2015
35 miles

$38,500 plus taxes for base 5.0 in southern california

Great price Adam.
Congrats on the new car.

Where did you buy it? 38k OTD or not?

Got it in SoCal, Oxnard. 38K +TTL.

Sorry, been out of the country with no internet access.

Has any tried or know if there is E-Plan pricing for the 2016 yet? Just curious...

Seriously so happy to see how many others have benefited from the recent pricing, getting $12k+ markdowns off MSRP. When I first joined the forum and posted my deal, I couldn't believe nothing had been posted yet about the insane markdowns, but I'm so glad I shared. I thought my deal was too good to be true and something was up... Little did I know it was legit. Happy to have pioneered the movement :) I do feel bad for those early adopters, but even at that price the Genesis is a phenomenal value against the competition. Hope to see more fellow owners around my area! Haven't seen a single one yet.

Hi folks....Chris from Cleveland. My very first post here but I'm a veteran forum guy with other vehicles. Purchased my new Ultimate AWD yesterday locally for $40,900. Thanks to my lurking here for a week, I have the V10 Nav maps on order and a rear cargo mat thrown in to seal the deal.

I was planning to road trip to Baltimore to buy a Empire grey with the Ivory interior. Also quoted $39,900 for a white/beige Ultimate, but my old car has the same color combo at a dealer in NC. Didn't want a black interior. So I found one locally and asked them to match the price and now I have a Santiago Silver with grey interior. Car is unbelievable!!

:welcome: aboard and congrats on the new ride. Post up some pics.

Got my New Ibiza Blue / Ivory 3.8 RWD Ultimate over the weekend and absolutely love the car!!! had only 25 miles on it, so i was a happy camper. :)

build date was 4/22/15.

Anyone know what the financing terms are for new 2015s? With the lease cash on 2016s, it seems like a no brainier unless I can swing a deal on a 2015 like some of the ones I've been reading about here. That said, I still wouldn't want to pay cash, so trying to figure out some bottom line numbers for financing a 2015. Any help is appreciated.

Also, great forum. Lots of information.

Dealership matched whatever I found previous to coming in. 1.99/60mo or 2.49/72mo

There was no dealer incentives on the financing for 2015 for me

Been lurking for a few weeks so it's about time I contribute something. Leased a 2016 3.8 RWD with tech package (plus a couple of extras like mud guards, key locks, applique bumper, etc.) yesterday. Here are the terms as best as I can break them down:

MSRP: $47,470.00
Adjusted Capitalized Cost (including $595 acquisition fee): $38,299.00

As far as I know, I only qualified for conquest and lease cash ($4,500.00 combined) so I guessed the pre-incentive selling price was $42,204.00 (also deducting the acquisition to get to that). Can't say for sure if they had some other incentive that was applied, but the math works out based on my breakdown so I don't really care if they shifted some numbers.

3 years/36,000 miles
MF: .00017/residual value 56%
$367 per month (including 6% sales tax) with first payment rolled in (would have been $357.22 had I paid it upfront).

Only paid $285 up front for tag and title (but should get some of that back from the DMV as it was just a tag transfer).

I was unsure if I wanted the tech or signature, so took offers on both (I use a method where I take offers rather than make them) and decided that for the approximately $30 per month difference, the features in the tech were a bargain (adjusted capitalized cost on the signature was $35,318.00, also including the acquisition, for a post tax (6%) monthly of $327 without rolling in first payment).

I am in the South Florida area and am hoping this information proves useful to someone.

Loving the car so far. Oh yeah, white exterior, black interior.

Your "take offers" approach sounds great! Thanks for it!
