  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No snow is nice, but 110-115º in the summertime? Not so nice :). I'm hoping the AC in this car is better than my previous 2002 Maxima. That AC was absolutely terrible.

I found it to have the best AC of any car I've owned. Highest I've seen though was 105. and only one day.

I'll take that all day long compared to 10° and constant wind. +1 on the A/C. I had a '15 Sonata Limited and that A/C was impressive. I haven't used my A/C yet in the Genesis but the amount of air it circulates on high is a way to tell how good it will be. Make sure to keep you cabin air filter clean and replace it when needed. It's the culprit in many cases where "not enough air" gets through.

First post. Great forum. Got my 2015 Genesis last month. Had it blacked out this week. Not sure if I went too far but hey......

With all that black in a Vegas summer, I imagine you'll be using the remote start to cool it down before entering. I'd really like to see in in person, phtots don't do it justice.

True ....but as it was already black and tinted when I bought it, figured it wouldn't make much of a difference. Will try and get some better pics soon. Love the car. Previously had a 2009 Lexus LS 460....and this feels so much more solid. Cabin as quiet if not quieter.

Looks good. I always envy people that live it states that don't require front license plates. Good choice on the V8

My 2018/15 lol

Looks great! You are still driving the loaner G80? Heck at this point they should just sell it to you.

Nope, I only gotten the g80 loaner twice first time 4 days second time 2 days. They wouldn't do a G80 Sport loaner.

So far so good, I found a few more areas to check out for a squeak free cabin.

Ah that's yours! I was confused by the grille.

Yea, I'm just missing the engine and transmission swap now lol. On a different note I think my next project is to find out if the brembos from the stinger will fit our cars.

Wondering where you have noticed squeaks coming from in your cabin. I'm dealing with the same (seems to be coming from somewhere around the instrument cluster) and it's starting to drive me crazy!!

So I have fixed a few and probably should start a thread on it, I fixed the over head sunglass holder that was creeking, the pano roof glass that moves have these two plastic accordion looking pieces that slides on a rail those were off the rail hanging there.

Also the doors would creak and I tightened all the black bolts that old the door and found many were a bit loose. The metallic rattle sound that sounds like its coming from the dash I have yet to track down.

I'd be interested to see how you removed the over head sunglasses holder. I think I can hear some small rattling from that area.

I could start a thread on all the random fixes I have done, so far besides what's left under the dash my cabin is like a tomb.

I have been fortunate in not having any rattles or squeaks over 2 1/2 yrs.... except the overhead console.
There was a very annoying low level buzzing vibration sound that I could silence by pressing around the right side lamp housing. But it was difficult to drive with one hand pushing on the overhead console.

So after removing the console, I examined it carefully, looking for a loose screw or possibly two surfaces that could vibrate together under the right harmonics. I completely disassembled the housing and found only one issue. The right side metal retainer clip that holds the console inside the headliner would wobble sideways and up and down inside its plastic housing because the tangs on the metal clip were not bent out sufficiently to hold it tight.

The fix required removing the retainer clip from the molded plastic tower it was pressed down into, bending the tangs further outward so that they would take more of a bite into the tower - thus eliminating any movement or vibration.
*Note - this metal clip is not really designed to be removed after initial factory assembly of the overhead console. The metal clip is spring steel and tangs are meant to bite into the plastic securely and permanently.

It did require removing the circuit board and its cover so that proper access could be gained to dislodge the clip. It was meticulous and required patience, but success was my reward. No more annoying vibration. All is quiet inside. :D

Why not let the dealer fix it under warranty? Well... the challenge of fixing it myself.
And avoiding the aggravation of convincing the dealer that this minute problem needed repair.
(my local dealer looks for ways to avoid doing the right thing)

So is this the same problem that some other owners are experiencing? No idea.
I just know that I no longer have this vibration and I'm passing on what I did to correct it.

Here are a few photos that may better show what I was describing.

I took it completely apart, the tangs have no issues its the front part here the two plastics meet, I did dense foam strips in my which basically padded it a bit all has been good as well.

how did you do the Grille with the Radar? I am wanting to black mine out, but still want to keep the functionality of the front radar.

Actually it was done incidentally (they did it/I didn't ask for it). The installer/wrap company used Raail USA wrap. https://us.raail.com/

Initially I was concerned it may affect performance but the radar related functions all work flawlessly. Hope this helps.

My problem is a rattle inside the cowling over the instrument cluster, I can tap it and hear rattling inside.
For a car so quiet this rattle can sound louder than it is

My fear is if I put it in under warranty they will damage or mark the trim during removal and replacement.
