  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Post purchase price details here (US $ only)

Sorry, not you. I was referring to the poster who said they were telling him that Genesis was telling the dealers to mark up the cars.
Ok. I really, really doubt about Genesis authorizing to mark up the vehicles. That's dealer's shit to make more money.

Genesis didn’t...I can 100% guarantee it.

Bet someone should email Kevin Smith and inform him.

As far as we know it is not happening since the poster will not give details. I looked at some 2019 inventory in the central Florida area and saw no markups. Actually saw some discounts on the G80s.

The websites will show the correct sticker price. But I went to Coastal Genesis and for a 2.0T Elite with $41,055 MSRP the lowest they wanted to go was $42,500, and that's without the $1000 rebate. The first market value price they showed me was on the $47,000s. So yes, it's happening.

How many of you are getting tired of people saying "You paid(or are willing to pay) that much for a Hyundai!"? Its amazing how people are obsessed with the badge on the front as opposed to understanding that Genesis is actually just as good(read: reliable) if not better than the main brands. I dont have this car yet (still in my Audi lease), but I am defending it on a daily basis.

My response is "People are paying 80 grand for a Guilia that sits in the shop half the time because its plagued with reliability problems. You still want to tell me Alfa is a better brand than Genesis?".

^ i have had that, sort of, but most of the time i find myself explaining what/who Genesis is. hell, if you option up just about any car out there you can spend a lot of money. this is where the G70 shines - the value proposition against loaded-up competitions is undeniable. those tied to a particular badge are lemmings and i pay no mind.

my italian/sicilian bro-in-law was dead-set on a Giulia. he's now enlightened and drives a Genesis.

Yes, I've had some puzzled looks from people that don't understand the car's value vs an BMW or Audi. And, "why don't you buy an SUV 'cause they're better". It'll take some time.

It is not illegal for dealers to charge more than MSRP, just may not be good for business in the long run.

Yeah dealers is fine but a big no-no from the manufacturer. If a dealer is telling anyone this you need to run from that shady dealer as fast as you can. Too many good dealers out there to deal with a crappy one.

Still working with a few dealerships... I may pick up a 3.3T Sport RWD this weekend.
As for the purchase price, I don't think mine counts since I'm getting a deep discount.

Feel free to apply your discount to me if you'd like. Buy 2, send one to me, and I'll give you an extra few grand for your troubles. ;)

That might negate the deep discount, or you could be paying higher than what you could get local lol.

So far my local dealers say they can't even get the color/trim I even want, much less give me ANY sort of discount. 💩

It's actually quite a bit more than that... =)
I was going off the dealer employee price...thought it was the same. Not even going to ask. But you better f’ing get one!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
