  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Winter wheel & tire packages?

I'm getting ready to purchase a set of winter wheels and tires for my G70. I'd prefer to go through Tire Rack as I have purchased from them before and had a good experience, but Tire Rack does not have winter wheel and tire data for the G70 in their system yet. I've called them, trying to use the options for the Kia Stinger GT, but they were unsure about the pressure monitor sensors and could not guarantee compatibility. According to them, the G80 and Stinger use different sensors. From what I have found, all Genesis/KIA/Hyundai supposedly use the 433Mhz frequency for their sensors.

For those that have purchased other wheels with new tire pressure monitoring sensors, did you have any issues with sensors? Do you know if the Stinger GT sensors are compatible? Anyone purchase G70 tires/wheels/sensors through Tire Rack; if so, what did you get and do you have any info about the sensors?
Thanks

The G70 and Stinger use the same TPMS - part # 52933-J5000.

I’ve always wanted Torq Thrust style wheels. These are a cheap knock off I’d use for the winter. The G70 isn’t a pony car but being a little different sounds fun. Thoughts?

I like the Torque Thrust. Why not?

My concern would be whether they fit over the Brembo brakes, if you have them.

Nah, I have the 2.0 Dynamic. Staggered 19’s but no Brembos.

I like your thinking on going ahead with the Torq Thrust look though.

No offense, but those Torq Thurst style wheels on a G70 makes me want to cry. Absolutely not the car for em, IMO

None taken! I’m not one of those forum members that gets pissy at everyone who has a different opinion than me. We all know the type. LOL

I like the idea of being different though. One of the reasons I like my 19” ten spoke wheels is that they’re much less common than what I’m seeing available on dealer lots.

Ordered the TR60 in 18-8, offset of 50 and bore 72.62. They are backordered so don't have them yet. Open to people's thoughts on this size, I can still change/cancel my order as they are backordered until September.

Before I placed the order I read a review from someone with a G70 w/ Brembos and these rims. The verdict was they fit but the weights for wheel balancing have to be on the very outside or inside to ensure clearance on the brembos. There is a pic up with the guys review as well with the wheels/tires on his G70 over the brembos which was reassuring.. When I find it i'll post it.

Just wondering if you got the TR60s and tried them to confirm they clear the brembos on the G70? Or can you post a link to the review you read? They only thing I could find on this forum was someone with a G80. I'm considering the TR60s for my winter setup (G70 3.3T Sport). Thanks!

Just test-fit my winter wheel and tire setup.

Enkei Draco 18x8+35 wrapped in 225/45-18 Blizzak WS80 tires. I used Tire Rack and chose a Stinger GT AWD fitment. There were a couple wheels I liked, but the fact that the Dracos look like the 10 spoke wheels that have been powdercoated kind of sealed the deal.
(New phone went kind of wild with the HDR on its own..)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Draco-REX I’m guessing you purchased the TPMS sensors from Tire Rack as well. If so did your car automatically sense/configure them or do you have a TPMS tool?

Seems like I read somewhere our cars do that but I can’t find that info for the life of me.

BTW, damn nice ride.

I didn't have them on long enough to see if they will self-program. But I really don't think they will. When I swap them, I'll give them some time to see what happens. But that won't be until November or so..

Has anyone installed RTX wheels on their G70 with Brembos? I quite like these RTX in gunmetal and the price is right but I don't want to buy 4 expensive paper weights.

I emailed RTX but their response was hardly useful: "Hi, when I do the research on rtxwheels.com, it only allows me to search the 2019 Genesis G70 2.0T and not the 3.3t

This being said, it shows that the RTX Envy in 18x8 would fit on the Genesis G70 2019.
To be sure, the best thing to do is a fitment test."

Yes I made the big mistake of ordering and installing the 18” RTX Envy’s and I can confirm that they DO NOT FIT with the Brembos. I posted my experience in this thread on Aug 7. The Brembos completely touch the wheel. See my attached pictures.

I ended up having to pay about $90 to ship them back to the store. I then ordered the Fast Wheels FC04 which fit great with plenty of clearance for the calipers.

DON’T BUY RTX ENVY. THEY DO NOT FIT G70 WITH BREMBOS.

Sorry I had a problem attaching the pics of the RTX touching the Brembos. Here they are. As you can see, they absolutely do not fit.

BIG THANKS to juicysauce. I will be ordering the Fast FC04 (matte bronze) - will post pics after they get installed.

Same setup here, installed midway through this past winter (I bought the car on 12/31/2018).

18x8 Enkei Performance Draco Anthracite
225/45R-18 Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 XL
433MHz Tire Pressure Sensor

The sensors were recognized and read properly after 3 or so miles of driving.

@patatty This setup worked well for you last winter? It's nearing time for winter tires for me in Colorado, so I'm starting to look.

Questions:

Did you order the Enkei Dracos through Tire Rack?

Looks like you have Brembos, correct?

On Tire Rack's order page, it says "Included Hardware - 4 Required centering ring , 20 Required lugnut for vehicle (nickel plated)". Any issues with these? Everything fit OK?
