Been here awhile...
As a guy with a good R&D and Manufacturing background, belive me, they can do a whole lot for a grand total of less than $50 (mfrs cost, not retail), by adding the entire following list of mostly chromed plastic stuff what would enhance appearance (one item is more complex, it involves adding 1 LED to an existing string of LEDs).
For under $50 in total you can add all the following:
Wing Emblems - hood, trunk, wheels and steering wheel. (Less than $10 to manufacture the whole lot)
Chromed B pillar (between front and rear doors) and chromed window trim. (Less than $10-$20 to manufacture the whole lot)
Exhaust vents (decorative) on hood or rear side panels (like Buick used to have, and sports cars may have today). (Less than $10 to manufacture the whole lot)
Mud guards on wheel wells. (Less than $5 to manufacture)
Side-marker lights or reflectors (amber front, red rear). Cost less than $1 to manufacture.
Rear bumper reflectors. Costs less than $1 to manufacture.
Turn Signal visible in mirrors. (Don't know, probably $5-$25, depending on implementation. My preferred implementation would be to add a few more LEDs to the led strip already on the side mirrors, wrapping one of those LEDs around the edge so they would be visible from the drivers seat).
There are lots more things to be done, but this list is constrained by definition to "relatively inexpensive" items.
