  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Proximity Card Key?

$150 is downright criminal....

I can't seem to find out the exact dimensions of the card. It takes coin type batteries, so it can't be THAT thin. Just want to make sure I can place it in my (non-RFID) wallet.

it is roughly the size of 2-3 credit cards. And it takes the ultra thin cr2412 battery which is bigger in diameter and thinner than most coin batteries.

and $150 is a decent deal, most dealerships charger $250+ and then another $120 for programming

The coin type battery it uses is like the one in an Apple Watch and yes it is VERY thin. I had to order mine on-line since no stores carried one that thin and the stealership's prices were of course - NUTS!! The battery is a CR2032.

Maxell CR2032 lithium batteries -pack of 15: Amazon.ca: Health & Personal Care

$68 bucks for key and $75 for programming at my dealer. Bout the only positive thing I can say about them thus far and yes, it measures closer to 3 credit cards thick.

I just got my windshield wipers replaced along with the air filter and cabin filter to the tune of $200. I was flabbergasted.

On the BRIGHT side, they charge $75 for programming.

CR2032 is for the fob
CR2412 is for the Smart card.

Thanks for the correction - I have two fobs and 1 smart card and mixed up the numbers. The Smart Card battery is wafer thin!

How long does the smart card battery last?

I've replaced mine as soon as there's a warning about a low key battery when shutting off the car - that's after a year. This time, I decided to test things out and let it keep warning me and not replace the battery. It lasted about another 6-7 months until it didn't want to unlock my door until the fifth try holding my wallet at different places. It also didn't want to start the car until I held it beside the start button. My experience has been 1.5-2yrs battery life. Not sure if more use reduces its lifespan or not.

sounds about right. I’ve had mine since 7-2018 and just started getting the low battery warning on the car.

Last question.. Is that with the battery that came inside? I was going to replace mine as soon as I received it. That won't be necessary?

Yes same battery it came with.

Some of these Hyundai/Genesis parts houses show the card to work with up to 2018 models. Is that true, it won't work with my 2019 G80, or have they just not updated the description?

They seem to be over $500 now. This one is less, but it's for up to '18.

I would get the direct part number for your model year from your dealer, he can look it up. I had to do this for my 2018 because the original one I ordered online would not program and the part number was different and than the one attached to my vin, I had to return and request the correct part number.

would have bought from dealer but his price was double that of the online one

Thanks, I'll check with the dealer. Pretty sure I need 95443-B1301, but it's $550-650 now. Yeah... right.
