If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015 turn signal burnout problem

I did the upgrade to the Triton V6's over Labor Day. So far, I like them. Can't speak to longevity yet. Because of the higher energy draw, compared to other LEDS, I didn't have a problem with hyperflashing.

There is another thread here somewhere, where the issue of the amber DRL/turn signal bulb burning out is an issue. Seems some folks have been chasing this problem, replacing the bulb multiple times. Just wanted to let you all know, it happened to me last week. I called the dealer, and they said it was a known issue. There is apparently something wrong with the wiring harness, which causes a short & the bulb burns out. They replaced the harness & bulb under warranty. I did ask if they could be pro-active and go ahead and replace the harness on the side that had not burned out. Was told, "no", the bulb would have to have burned out. But if it does, bring it back for the free fix. Sooooo, just FYI, if you're one of the folks having this happen, the next time it does, it's covered ( provided you're still under warranty ).
Good info!
And for those of us out of the warranty, you may want to do what I did. I replaced my lamp sockets (because they had cracked from the heat) and bulbs with LEDs. They do hyperflash (blink twice as fast as a normal turn signal). But I don't care since I haven't had to replace either since.

You can actually get around the hyperflash issue by simply installing a resistor on each harness. It's very simple and inexpensive to do. There's a YouTube video that explains it.

Got the parts in today, but the weather is bad so I won't be able to do the install. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Wind and rain is bad for electrical work.

I was actually looking at those, and was about to buy them, when I the read that several members said switchbacks don't work. Do they switch colors for you, depending on the function?
Tbh i havnt even paid attention to it im just tired of replacing the dam bulbs lol i bought load resistors to make sure flicker doesnt come back even tho i havnt had a problem with it yet

Did u get resistor installed if so which 2 wires do the attach too

Sorry it's taken so long to get back on this upgrade, but I've been busy with work and just got around to getting it done today. First off, let me say that it was way easier than I thought it would be. That should have been a clue that I was going to run into trouble. LMAO Actually, it took me about 5 minutes to take everything apart. Once I did, I pulled out the old bulb and inserted the LED. And...nothing. I thought I could just flip the LED and it would work, but the notches in the base would only allow me to insert the LED one way. I remembered about the wiring polarity and figured I'd just switch the wires. I've got big hands and couldn't get the clip to unlatch inside the housing. I imagine if I had smaller hands I probably could have done it, but it was a no go. So I opted to go the route I really didn't want to, and I clipped the wires mid-way. I stripped the wires and reconnected them backwards. I tried the LED and it worked. And that was with no resistor. So I used some electrical tape, covered the wires, and put everything back. So far, so good. At this point I think the LEDs are so close to the voltage and amps of the original bulbs that a resistor isn't necessary. But I'll wait and see how it goes. If I need to go back in, it's really not that bad, so I'll do it then. I attached a few pics to show how it went. I used a 12mm to take off the braces and an 8mm to take off the air box. The front cover was actually really easy. I used a flat-tip to push in the center of the clips, and then they just popped right out when I lifted up on the cover.

Using the LEDs I posted, I didn't need to use the resistors. If I had, there are only two wires. The instructions say that you just connect one side to one wire and the other side to the other wire. The only issue I see is that both wires are red, and I'm not sure if there needs to be a ground wire or if you can just use those two as they are. Glad I didn't have to find out.

The LED bulbs look well made with a large metal heat sink; so hopefully the LED bulbs lasts longer than the stock bulbs without the circuit failing due to heat.

After replacing both, L/R, bulbs a couple of times, I got tired and simply leave the headlights on all the time, they turn off automatically after the car is off. It fixes the DLR burnout problem quite effectively!

That's certainly another way of doing it. I like my DRLs, so I went with the LEDs. So far, so good.

I’m going to give the LEDs a chance and see how they hold up. Thanks.
Think you will be pleased. Doing it once beats doing it repeatedly.

UPDATE:

The replacement 1156 sockets work just fine, and the longer lead wires allow me to pull the passenger-side socket clear of the air cleaner box if I ever need to change the bulb. I settled on these bulbs, which have functioned flawlessly for well over a month. That is, they do not hyper-flash and they appear to have the durability to be used as DRLs.

If I ever go back to the stock 1157-style stock sockets, I would go with the 1157 version of this bulb.
I am having the same issue and have for a few years and have kinda become a pro at changing the passenger side bulb. So I decided to go the LED route myself, but after installing the resistor to trick the car into believing it had a normal bulb in the socket, the LED lights would not work, so I went back to normal bulbs and the continuing problem of bulbs burning out.

I am wondering if you could give me information as to where you purchased your 1156 sockets from? None of the stores I deal with know anything to be able to help me. I would like to successfully change over to LED.

Thanks for any info you can give.

To put LEDs in place of the halogens you're probably going to have to switch the pins on the light harness - bottom line.... This is not difficult, it just takes a little time. I've posted a short instruction. If you cant find it let me know I'll leave a link
can you send me the link (instructions)

I have had this ongoing and annoying problem with my 2015 Genesis since it was 6 months old. The dealer (North Charleston Hyundai) is clueless. This appears to be a systemic problem and I don't understand why Hyundai hasn't stepped up to fix it. If they're serious about the luxury market, this is a bad image issue. Owners shouldn't have to jump through hoops to install self-fixes for a design flaw that the manufacturer and dealer ignores. This is my second and last Genesis. While I like the Genesis better than equivalent Lexus/BMW/Infiniti models, enough is enough.

I just don't use the DRL's - not much of a fix but I haven't had to replace any bulbs in over 18 months. Which is a real PITA on the 5.0... I was thinking about trying to find some lower wattage conventional bulbs as stock ones are really bright for what they are needed for in my opinion. Been too lazy to investigate that though.
