At 40K miles my 2018 G80 3.3T Sport is again showing discoloration on the driver front, passenger front and driver rear lower window trim.
This would be the 3rd time I've had the trim replaced. I am meticulous about my care car. I wash car with pH balanced car soap and waxed or used
ceramic coating on the window trim after every wash.
When I took to dealer for the ABS recall fix I requested this be replaced under warranty. After 1 week and no response from dealer I called 3 days in row leaving a message to get a status. I finally got a dealer service representative. They told me replacement parts were in and I requested an appointment to get the trim replaced with a loaner vehicle. They said no loaners were available. I requested how long the work would take and was put on hold. A different service representative came on the line and told me they received a letter from "Genesis" saying this window trim would no long be replaced under warranty. Tech suggested I contacted Genesis Customer car.
I called Genesis customer care and they said they would need a PA # (Pre approval/Prior Authorization) and estimated cost.
I went back to dealer and requested they submit a PA and provide me estimated cost.
After 1 week of no response from dealer I called. They said they would need pictures of the damaged trim. This weekend I sent pictures to the dealer and now awaiting a response.
This is a classic case of "passing the buck" betwixt the dealer and manufacture. Frustrating !
