  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any high mileage Genesis owners out there??

You are correct.

2012 - 2014 3.8, 5.0, R-Spec use 8-speed transmission built in house by Hyundai.

I have ZF 6-speed transmission in my 2011 4.6.
Well, that should narrow things down. Thank you both for the input.

2012 3.8......40,000 miles....lol

Your Gennie is still brand new. For family reasons (wife's job, daughters, grandchildren and our parents) I have a decent commute (130 miles per day when I work). Mine has been to AMI, FL 3 times, 8 trips to Pawley's Island, SC and numerous other visits. It get 26 to 32 miles per gallon and is a geat vehicle for travel.

I have a 2012 Genesis 5.0. Bought used but still runs strong with 185,000 miles on it. Replaced some minor things, EVAP sensor, gas cap, and changed plugs. Burns a little oil between changes. Hate the struts and shocks on these, they were crap, and didn't want to spend Hyundai money for new ones. Bought Rock Auto imports and exactly like the reviews said, they went to crap in 6 mos too. Aside from that I just deal with ride quality and some minor noises. I had planned to take off the secondary cats, because that is seriously overkill. Otherwise, just keep on driving it.
