  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

It certainly isn't intuitive, and involves combining a couple different features/section of the app.
In the Canadian app:
  1. Go into 'schedule'. Use the slider to turn Schedule on.
  2. Select Schedule 1 or 2, then enable Scheduled Charge
  3. Set the day and time you want to depart.
  4. Make sure you select 'Apply' or 'Save' before hitting the back arrow on any changes you make anywhere in the app, or it will just ignore your recent input - without warning.
  5. Go back to the main 'Schedule" screen.
  6. Use the slider to turn on 'Intelligent Charge'. You'll then need to input your 'Off-peak hours'.
  7. You want to set this so your off-peak period ends when you want the car to be ready, so if you're leaving at 8AM, select that as the end time.
  8. Do some math to estimate how much time you're going to need to charge, and set the start of your off-peak period so that the total time within the window just barely covers what you'll need - maybe is even a hair less. For example, if you need 3 hours, set off-peak for 5 - 8 AM.
  9. Select 'Prioritize off-peak charging', this will cause the car to charge mostly during the time you specified, but gives it permission to start earlier, if needed, to complete charging by 8AM. If you tell it to charge ONLY during the period, you'll get your three hours of charging, and that will be it, even if that doesn't get you to your desired charge level at departure.
  10. Go to 'Target state of charge', and select the percentage you want the battery to be at when you depart. 100%, if you want to leave with a full battery.
  11. ALWAYS HIT SAVE/APPLY WHENEVER IT APPEARS ON ANY PAGE THAT YOU'VE MADE A CHANGE. Otherwise, you've just wasted your time and the car won't be ready.
There you go, 11 simple steps. :)

That, in a nutshell, describes my biggest issue with our GV60 - most operations (whether in the app or in the car) require at least a few more steps than should strictly be necessary!

Sudden unexpected and unwanted braking.

I live on the west side of a wide two lane street (one lane in each direction plus a bike lane and room for parking. I was backing out of my driveway to go south on the street and there was a car going north (far side of the street) as I carefully backed out onto the south side, my car suddenly braked afraid it was going to hit the car going north.

Aside from the sudden scare, this could be a safety issue if the car suddenly braked when it was not expected nor desired.

In my condo I’ve backed out of my garage into the street with my BMW i4. On the vast majority of days there have been no issues, but on some days when the sun is at a certain angle illuminating speed hump arrow markings in the roadway, the car will suddenly brake. It gives me warning tones prior to it braking and shows a red demarcation where it’s getting upset, but there’s obviously no reason for it to see a danger and brake.

Now that I know this, I back up very slowly when I hear the warning tones and then all is well with no unexpected braking. I guess until these systems are 100% perfect (if ever) it’s better that they are overly cautious than ignore real issues.

Thus far I haven’t had this issue with my G80 EV, but I’ve had it far less time than my i4.

Mine still doesn’t change.
I have the same experience in the app. Can only adjust in car. Reported to Genesis Customer Care.
Changing/saving percentage charge limit now saves in app with latest app update. This issue now resolved by Genesis. On to the next one!

I've only had my GV60 for a month. Can someone tell me what are the lastest Audio, Car, Maps, and App releases? And how do I see the App version?

I am doing this from memory but I believe it is under setup on the touchscreen. There are actually two different places: one for the CCiS system (nav, radio etc.) and one for the car.

I'm using a CPH50 and I used to experience the Maximum charge issue. I had it going good for like a month or two, no problems, but then got the issue. Since then, I lowered it to Reduced (not Min.) and it was charging fine. It added like an hour or so and that was not a big deal since whenever I charged (at around 20%) or so, I had plenty of time from coming home to leaving for work the next day.

Now here's my new issue. Recently I was almost stranded (and there was a 4 car wait at the EA charger I was at) so I limped over to CP charger and just paid for a few minutes (50kW charger) and then that got me to my destination which had a Tesla charger. I used an adapter to charge, but it was basically an AC adapter. So here, I thought ... maybe I could switch it back to MAX but the problem arose again... so I went back to Reduced. Now, even at home, I am getting the intermittent charging problem...

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I skimmed through forums I saw there was a TSB but I don't really trust my local dealer (the one I bought it from) all that much tbh... I remember setting up my chargepoint to 60A when installing or whatever was the highest setting and I'm positive my electrician installed it properly since I haven't had much issues with it when I started...

Wow, this is a huge thread of complaints! I'm glad my Lucid Grand Touring has been solid. It kind of makes me worried about the Genesis.

Are you planning to get a Genesis or is your comment related to something else?

Both of my front center console USB C sockets have failed. Not electrically (it's not a blown fuse, in other words). They have failed mechanically - and neither of them will retain the USB plug any more. There is no 'click' and the plug just falls out. They failed within a few days of each other, and now I have no CarPlay functionality and cannot use the other socket to charge. Anyone else had the same problem ?

When you get them repaired, I’d recommend you get a wireless CarPlay dongle. That way you’ll have the convenience of wireless CarPlay and you’ll have no need to constantly remove & insert a USB cable.

Add me to the list of dead 12-volt victims.

Friday it was totally dead. Car was dark & cold and wouldn't do anything.

Pulled up the access panel, attached the NOCO jump pack and it revived the car immediately.

I charged the battery up by leaving the car in utility mode for an hour. I've been checking the battery voltage over the last 18-20 hours and it has been falling. Started above 13 VDC and is at 11.14 now. Car is still "alive" at this voltage, but it seems really low.

That's fully drained. Below 11.4V does permanent damage to the battery.

Is the traction battery not charging the 12v battery? On my G80 EV I‘ll occasionally see the light on top of the dash lit as it charges the 12v. I thought the GV60 had a similar setup. Would this not protect against a dead battery?

I have too on my GV60, static ORANGE on the dash, but i think when a 12v battery is malfunctioning so this whole cycle stops. Who knows what is the problem :/

Anyone have "unwanted" operation of the "touchpad" controller on the right of the steering wheel?

I've had it jump tracks or change radio station a few times when my hand is on the edge - I've thought it's maybe a sleeve catching it, but as the weather warms and I'm in a T-shirt, it still happens too many times to be "catching it" accidentally

I have this happening due to my sleeves. I wear long sleeve to cover my tattoos and protect them and yep always change tracks or stations. Drives me bonkers.

I had the hood open so I could check on the battery voltage periodically. I kept waiting for the system to recharge the battery, but the voltage kept dropping steadily and I had to start the car and put it in utility mode to recharge.

I finally decided to give up checking the voltage and closed the hood. As soon as I did, the amber light came on to indicate charging.

So, I learned that the system won't charge if the hood is open.

The problem occurs when the 12 volt battery voltage gets too low. Then the system can't (or won't) charge the battery. So something is causing the voltage to rapidly drop and then the battery won't recharge (I assume. I don't know what is really happening).

I bought a BT battery monitor and should have it by Thursday.
