If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2009 Genesis V8 Magnaflow Cat-Back (16497) HD VIDEO

FYI-

I just got an online quote from performance peddler for $565.91

We might have better luck calling them and asking for the $532 price.

I don't think custom exhausts void any warranties supplied by the manufacturer.

A quick google search for Magnuson-Moss Act should answer some of your questions.

ASHDUMP, use this code to get the system for 532.65 "stimulus" less the quotations. I ordered mine today. I spoke with a representative in the service department at the dealership and was told as long as nothing stops working related to the after market exhaust system then it is OK to install it. Cat-back and all bolt on I don't see where it should affect anything. I believe the sensors are forward of the catalytic converters so hopefully the system shouldn't cause any issues. I will certainly keep the original for just in case.

The last line of defense is your O2 sensor. Anything past that ( which the Magnaflow is) and your golden!

No warranty issues and the warranty act is your best friend!

Alright it has been a great day guys, I got the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system installed today and all I can say is WOW! :D I used my iPhone 3GS on the way home and made a short little video. I was so excited I failed to mention the fact I was driving my 2010 Genesis 4.6 Sedan. As well I didn’t video any with the windows down but I will be glad to make a few more if there is something in particular you would like to see or hear.
I will post the install pics to my user cp

Pinggolf does the exhaust system allow magical fuel economy since your fuel guage was on Empty in your video:D

I have a question about the HP claims. If you get 20hp more I would love to see the dyno. Not trying to hijack the thread but better performance through ECU tuning would get simular results? Retuning the engine and modifying the ESC would provide a much better power curve between shifts. The posted dyno run below has a power curve drop at 70mph then again at 110mph. A 90hp drop at 70mph during the shift  I am one that wants less ESC kicking in and stopping me when I want to go. Since turning off the ESC does not actually turn completely off the ESC. Not sure if making a luxury sedan sound like a hot rod will sell that well. I did like the sound in the video but my wife said no way would she have the exhaust changed out. Borla and magnaflow make fine exhaust systems but explain how an extra 20hp helps me when the ECU is taking it away when I want it most

I personally purchased the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system for one reason only, that reason being I wanted to hear the V8 the car has to offer with the 4.6 375HP. I could care less about an increase in performance or dyno runs and ecu tweaks or more mpg. But I will be driving it for several years i'm sure so during that time I want to enjoy the sound the exhaust is allowing the car to put out which by the way is not that intense. In fact it is like music to my ears. I was at the Hyundai dealership today for oil/filter change and tire rotation and I think all the salesman, service reps, mechanics, at the dealership made a trip to find the car and hear it run, they were all in awe and said it sounded great. To top it off when I got home my lovely wife actually said and I quote, "Oh that's not to loud it sounds good", I guess you would just have to actually ride in it to truly appreciate it.:D

YES! Nice video ChopperDude! I honestly don't know whats taking me so long to pull the trigger on this! ...well I've got other priorities right now, but this is definitely on the list! Thanks for all the information you provided.

Hey Ashdump...put that thing on layaway..!!!!

In no way, shape or form did I purchase this exhaust system for the performance characteristics. Im with Chopperdude. I just wanted to hear the V8! When I am ready for performance upgrades, I will begin with a tune, possibly a shift kit if one becomes available, a CAI...but really, to me, all of that is a waste of money when I can spend it on a supercharger or a turbo system. Im in no rush and I may even trade up on the 5.0 if Hyundai releases it! ;)

Lets be real, 20 hp is hardly noticeable or not noticable at all. You may just feel a little more throttle response...if any.

I would pay the money for a tune...but its hard to have that respect for a tuner who has never touched a Genesis before.:o

PING:

I'm interested in getting the magnaflow but was concern about two things:
1. The cabin noise and/or vibration.. how comfortable of a ride compare before and after?
2. can you send some close up pictures of the front view and side view of the tips? Just want to get an idea of how it loosk
