  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 genesis sedan - price paid

Last week I purchased a 2011 Leftover 4.6 v8. Sticker was $44k. I paid $35,345. I was actually looking for a 2012 3.8 base for about $30k, but figured for $5k, the upgrade made sense.

I know that this thread is for 2012's, but... how did I do price wise? Did the $5k extra for a leftover seem like the right decision? I'm really happy with the car, so there are no regrets either way.

I purchased a 2012 Genesis with both Premium and Tech package. I live in Los Angeles, bought the car through a car broker.

Price paid, prior to tax, license: $39500 out the door at $43300. Included trunk mat, carpets, ipod etc.

3.8 tech white cashmere 33,000 out the door (hail damaged)

Seems to be higher than Circle price. I guess the broker had to get paid.

Good choice!
I paid 35k also.

R-spec with Ipod and trunk mat. Windows tinted at the dealer but thy did not charge for that. 41,025 with a out the door price of 44800 with taxes, tag, title, and dealer junk fees.

Not sure if I can post this on this thread. But I am looking for a used 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 tech pkg possibly certified. I have been looking around autotrader and seen this car go for around $23000-25000 certified. But for some reason, all the dealers near me think they can get around 27000-30000 for their used 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6. Some are not even tech pkg, or not certified. My question is would they pricematch the other dealers that I see on autotrader that are certified to make me buy their car? I have already tried a dealership near me but all they told me was I can only knock off a few hundreds and I just left and didn't bother trying anymore. By the way I kinda have to buy a car by the end of the year. If I can't find the car for around 23000, I might just get something else. Oh I also live in Los Angeles, CA.

STICKER : $ 47,350

PAID : just under $45,000

Worth every penny :)

A dealer recently quoted me $33.7k for 2012 V6 Sedan with Prem. Not sure if it's a good price to pull the trigger or wait.

Just bought my R Spec Friday night. Sticker was $48, 855. Dealer added optiones brought it up to almost $51K. Paid $48K plus tax, titile, etc.

so, out the door price of $52k+?
wow, expensive.

Well I pulled the trigger and traded in my 2009 V6 Premium Cabernet for a 2012 titanium metallic v6 tech tonight. Just drove home and programmed my phone. In a few minutes I'll go back out and program the garage door opener.

It was a "hail" damaged car that had been repaired. Sold for 35781 + 1169 for TTL fees for a drive out of 36994.50 drive out.

Supply and demand I suspect. There are only 1200 in America right now. You came late to the table I think so you had to pay what you had to pay. The good news is that the car is a great value at MSRP too. Having bought cars and things for years, someone always gets a better deal or so it seems. And most people on car forums never mention whether they got a great deal on the trade-in. I paid more than most for a 2010 Acura, for example, and I was stunned to see that I paid more...on the face of it.... but I got a fantastic trade-in price and discovered that the people touting thier great deal didn't do too well on the trade-in.

No trade in as my current G8 is being bought back under the lemom law. Nothing down, full finance.

I did get 2K in rebates which would make it 46K i paid ofr a 51K car. I didn't really include them as that's more like a down payment. But I guess it does figure in.

Your right about timing and availability. At least I got one and I'm happy with the deal I made. It looks like that's it for the '12 R Spec. One per dealer and no more to come in. That's what my salesman told me. Also where I work, I see the Hyundai's rolling in off the boats every day and I don't see any R Specs coming in off the boats. So maybe he's right.

Sad part is they wanted 850 bucks for deliver charges when all they did was drive it on a truck and go about 15 miles down the road to the dealer. I didn't have to pay that though. ;)

You live down near Long Beach/San Pedro then?

They come in at Port Hueneme. about 100 miles north of Long Beach. ;)

What does fully loaded mean? I'm not sure what options dealer included in your deal but yes I've read others getting better pricing on the R-Spec.To some getting a deal done without back and forth haggling is worth few thousand so if you are happy then you should enjoy your R-Spec. Also I would think R-Spec would be worth more in your area than area where it snows during winter.
