2015/2016 Generation Genesis "Dislikes"

I'm too lazy to dig all around site for this one so here goes...

What, if any, short term or long term harm would it cause if I replaced my cheap incandescent DRL's in my 2015 with a pair of LED's. No wiring of resistors or whatever. Just plug in the LED's I'm seeing for sale at WM and AutoZone and flip light switch to"Auto" and go on down the road.

I know there will be hyper flash, but does that really harm anything?

I've replaced my turn signal bulbs probably 3 times this year and I'm sick of it!

I don't think itll harm anything hyper flashing maybe shorten the lifespan of the led. Honestly man those WM AutoZone LEDs would probably burn out a lot quicker than a nicer set found online. I bought a decent set online and wired in some resistors wasn't really hard at all.

I would try some incandescent 1157LL bulbs before dropping in 1157 LED bulbs without any resistors and the annoying hyper-flashing. You will also just allow the LED bulbs to wear out faster due to them working twice as fast with the hyper flashing.

One of my Sirius bulbs (no hyperflashing) just now burned out after 3 years. They no longer sell them so I've bought another set of 1157 bulbs online... will install this weekend and see how they go.

Dont look as "heavy duty" as the Sirius bulbs that I replaced - we'll see how they go. They look about the same quality as the Pilot Led bulbs I bought the first time that got too hot and were short-lived. The Sirius bulbs had a metal body to them - these dont, but these are half as much cost wise.

1157 are not the normal OEM issued bulbs. PY28 are the stock bulb; which are not LL rated bulbs.

1157LL bulbs has been working fine in my car for about 1 year so far.

I suppose I'm lucky. I've had my 15 5.0 for 5 years .and never had to replace one!

I guess many factors come into play.

Do you drive mostly during the day or night? Do you even have the DRL option selected when driving during the day? Do you even drive any long distance if you did use the DRL during the day?

My stock DRL bulbs would probably last years if I just drive a couple miles a day as opposed to my 28 mile commute to work in traffic; which mean my DRL is used about 2 hrs a day on my way from working night shift.

I just don't use them much. The trips I take with the car are usually 100+ miles.
It's not my everyday driver. I'm sure that has much to do with it.?
