Been here awhile...
That's kinda what I was talking about - the car weighs in at about 4600 lbs., but tap the accelerator and "bingo" 0-60 mph in five seconds - I kid you not.
Sorry if I sound like a broken record but yes the Genesis deserves the V8. Just the cherry on the top that turns this into the ultimate luxury sedan. There was a lot of justification to buy the V6 in other discussions about buying a car that would consume less quoting a few miles per gallon difference would make all the difference. Well now that 25mpg then is comparable to 50mpg now with gas at sub $2 (US) and the difference in the pocket book between V6 and V8 in consumption has dropped to half or less of what it used to be. They are saying they see oil dropping down to $20 a barrel, maybe you will see $1.35 at the pumps in the very near future.
As for the weight which seems to be mentioned quite a bit. If compared to an Audi S7 (V8 450hp) at 4564 lbs we are talking very similar. Bump it down to A7 (333hp) and now we are at 4398 lbs. Again strikingly similar to Hyundai's trim offerings. Never seen or heard of anyone complaining the Audi is over weight have you?Honestly, I simply do not feel the weight of this car or the need for a diet except myself that is.
